Aug 25, 2013

Howdy everybody:)

Man this taking care of old folks is hard! I remember taking care of the kids and I can certainly compare it to that! Of course I was younger then too:)
The Dr appts and the daily afternoon shopping trips are eating up all my time.

So needless to say not much is getting done around here but I did get to go to San Antonio Quilt Show and stopped off at Magnolia Pancake Haus.... yummy!!!!
This is a picture of my pecan waffles with peach compote and homemade whip cream:) The pecans are in the batter... they were so light and fluffy!!!! Will try the bacon ones next time... and yes there will be a next time!

Of course we had to stop at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls on the way home for Pie Happy Hour:) I took a whole pie home and there is still some left but not much:) Love the high meringue!

Chocolate Meringue:) YUMS!!!!

Hubby had the parents while I was gone. He lost them in Walmart 2 times:) Now he knows what I go through everyday:) He pretty much has them on weekends so I can get work done:) What a sweetie!!!! He only had them one at a time while he was in Florida:)

Jax wondering what all the hoopla is about:)

Ok I did get one quilt quilted:) Yes it is mine:) yea!!!

It is my Chevron quilt. I did a lot of free motion in the white and feathers in the colored:)

This is the back... I bought the backing in La Grange:)

Finally a few pictures outside:)

Found this on Facebook... too cute!

Hope everyone has a great week!!! I am quilting a Breast Cancer quilt today so I can get it to customer:)

Aug 17, 2013

Hi ya'll!!!

The in laws arrived safe and sound last Sunday:) I am still adjusting to their schedule:( I usually did errands and such in the morning and then sewed in the afternoon well that is all different now. It takes them all morning to get ready to go shopping at 1:30-2 so I am not getting to much done:( Will have to figure something out as the quilts are stacking up! At least everyone understands:) Thank you!!!!

I did get one quilt quilted really fast on Mon and a few PL's and that is all the quilting this week. I have been getting a few more medallion blocks sewed and a bit of embroidery on the machine done.

Oh and yesterday was the babies birthday! Wow a whole year old!!!! We had a small invitation only party:) Which meant all the indoor cats got to attend:) There were party hats but they were not happily worn:( But the special Fancy Feast they all got for snack was wonderful... I am guessing so as there was none left:) he he!!! Would of put a candle on one can but didn't have any... how do you get a cat to blow out candles anyway????
Oh and since we don't know the birthdays of the other 4 we just had a community party:) They all found us:)

Ok now to pictures:)

This is Dot's Western quilt she is donating to Llano Volunteer Fire Dept for their auction in a few weeks.

She needed it by Friday as they are going on vacation so I got it loaded and quilted lightening fast:) She did get the binding on in time and hubby took it yesterday:)

I used a western panto on it... can you see the longhorn? There is also the shape of Texas and a cowboy hat:)

Leigh has made another beautiful Texas flag quilt. She is putting this one in a local shop to sell.

If you are interested in it just drop me an email and I will forward the info:)

My Twister Cross quilt has a new home:) Our Bee Sew Creatives meet in a small church in Belton and I thought the quilt needed to be there:) The pastor and Kathy's Grandkids are in the picture too:)

Okay now Birthday pictures... they are loaded with cats so if you aren't interested in darling baby pictures have a great week!
This is when they were babies:)

Jax and his hat:)

Gemma and her hat:)

Why does she have a hat too?

Hey come here!!!!

Ok I have had enough partying:)

Silly it's suppose to be on my head... oh wait no it's not!

I am posing because I am Princess Gemma Bella:)

A fun day was had by all... or at least I think so!

Then I was snacking on chips last night and what did I find??? A heart in the center of one:) Too cool!

Ok first up is Emily's quilt. This is a Christmas gift:)

She picked Deb's Swirls and honey thread:)

Love the quilting on the back:)

Next is Elaine's Froggy baby quilt. She used a cute frog book panel to make this.

We decide on loops and green/blue variegated thread.

Here is the backing fabric.... just TOO cute!

WHOO HOO my Illusions quilt is quilted bound and hanging in the studio:)

I did free hand swirls in the black and twirls in the twister blocks.

Should of used black batting but remembered that a little too late:(
Oh well it's mine and I love it!!!!
Really got a bunch of Medallion blocks sewed at our Sew Creative Bee meeting yesterday:) What fun we have!!!!

Have a sewtastic week!!!!

Aug 3, 2013

Wow August is here? That means kids will be back in school and Christmas is coming. I better get busy:) How about you?

The in laws hit the road tomorrow and will arrive sometime next Sunday. They will go a few hundred miles a day and then spend 2 days in Biloxi to gamble and spend time with my daughter:) We have the house ready just need to wash the outside down and mow:) yea!!!! I hired a sweet lady to clean for me me:) I am getting wiser:) haha!

I had a VERY productive week:) Too hot to do anything else:)

First up is Marylyn's Texas quilt:) Remember it was on the frame last week. I got it finished:)

I did paisley filler around all the letters.

She wanted a 1/4 in outline around each Prairie Point so I got to play with a ruler. Was pretty easy and then I filled it with loops.

Here is the back. She loved it and that is all that matters:) yea!

Next up is Heidi's baby quilt.

Did a loop meander all over.

She used a sweet flannel on the back.

This is Sue's Hidden Star quilt.

She chose Maggie's Roses Pantograph with Ocean mist thread.
Great choices!

The back is prettier then the front:) Not really!

This is Kem's baby quilt for her grand daughter Piper.

She let me play so I looped all through the white and really made the zigs or are they zags stand out:)

You can see the quilting better on the back.

Here are this months Toes in the Sand BOM's. I thought I better get them done before the next one arrives:)
Jaybird Quilts has a new ruler and 3 new patterns that go with it coming out soon:) Oh oh!

Here are a few of my Medallion blocks. Not sure about the white ones yet but there will be more. If I don't like them I can always out them on the back:)

Hope you all have a SEW Wonderful week!!!!!
