Up and down week

Hi all,

Busy week with a change in the schedule midweek.

I quilted Mon and Tues. Wed I ran errands... but ended the day with a horrendous sinus headache:( Was to go to Quilt Con in Austin on Thursday but cancelled. Happens the driver of our little group also had a sinus headache. So Thurs was a def sick day! Fri left with Pat towards Melissa. It's North of Plano. We met up with friends and went shopping and ate at The House of Gyros in Mesquite... My favorite!!! More shopping and then back to host house. Sat we went to Allen for a Make a Blanket Day and came back with 59 Project Linus quilts/blankets. Was a great trip! Stayed off 35 as much as we could! Beautiful scenery when you go the back roads!

So today is laundry and rest day! Although I loaded a quilt to start tomorrow:)

So here is what got done this week:

TaDa!!! Here is Trish's cacti quilt. Very Modern!!!

Love it! I used the background fabric to design the quilting on a few blocks.

Others were just fills. All freehand. I outlined every cacti.

Love the way it turned out! There were 23 different thread colors used and 21 bobbins.

Was fun to quilt!

Backing fabric by Kaffe:)

My goodies from the trip.
The fats in front are from Quilted with Love in McKinney including the cat fat.
The 2 small scrap bags, 2 other unrolled fats, and 1/2 cream are from Watt A Find in Mesquite.
And lastly the big scrap bag and gray yardage are from Pieced Together studio also in Mesquite.
Fun trip!!!

So will get back to work tomorrow:)
Have an awesome week!!!!

Same thing different week:)

Hi All,

We had a low temp ione morning of 29 and today's high is to be 75 :0 Normal Texas weather! We also got 3.75 in of rain with most in one night. We did need the rain for the wildflowers!

I was only home 2 days and I did quilt those 2 days. I had lunch bunch, errand day and Hubby and I went to the Burnet Quilt Show on Valentine's Day or otherwise known as the Commercialised Love Day! We have never celebrated. I usually buy a 4 pack of chocolate covered strawberries and we share those:)

Back to the show. It was a lovely unjudged 120 quilt show. The only prizes given out are for the Viewer's Choice places 1,2,and 3. You saw everything from Modernt to Bonnie Hunter to antique quilts. They had a large boutique area and the best idea I had ever seen: a room with tons and tons of fabric. You could pu a banana box full for $5. Of course half the fun was the digging for the treasures. They came in all sizes, shapes, and unfortunately types...poly, fleece, drapery, etc... but there was a lot of cotton! I got my box full...well almost:) Hubby packed and folded the fabric so good it was about 3/4. They also had book and magazines but I had no interest in those!

Then we walked across the street to where the vendors were. I finally found a Barn quilt I had to have...of course it was sold so have one on order:) YEA! There was hand painted fabric, digital prints, fats, yardage, etc...

So I had texted my cousin who lives in Burnet on where to eat and he suggested MaMa's. Yup it was great homemade food! He unfortunately had to work and couldn't join us:(

Then we drove back home. Was a beautiful day and a great drive!

Yesterday Hubby got my FW case all spit shined and polished! It looks brand new. The daughter's was done last week but I didn't take a before and after pic of hers:( I did of mine!

Today I have been sewing Clue 6 of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt:) Am now cutting Clue 7...slow and steady! Hubby went to his concealed gun carry class.

Next week I will only be here 2 days and yes I will be quilting:) YEA!

Onto the pictures:
Here is my fabric haul:) Yes there is fleece in there for PL.
The rest is cotton and a bunch of batiks:)

There is a lady that does these...you can see her work at artful-lenscapes.com

My other purchases:)

The flyer.

What's on the frame...still....super custom quilting.

My final Poppins bag I will ever make is finished...well except for the zipper pulls I have ordered from Etsy.

Inside. Did I mention I was never ever going to make another one? Ever?

Poor Maxx had his man parts removed on Thursday. This picture is him at the vet when we first arrived... he was NOT happy with me at all! But he came home like nothing happened:) LOL!!!
The others looked for him for most of the day except when they were hiding from the plumber:) LOL!

Ok so my case before::::

And after:) Great improvement!!!

Have a great week and keep that machine sewing!!!

Hi all:)

Hope everyone is warm and safe after all the snow and tornadoes this past week. We just got really cold and a bit of rain:) YEA! Of course just about 20 miles north they got a light dusting of snow:)

Got both commissioned quilts all done and he will pick up tomorrow:) Was really all I worked on this week.

We did get the newest featherweight almost ready to go to OH:) Just needs her gears greased and the outside cleaned and polished. I named her Lorna:) Daughter can change name but it makes it easier to know which machine I am talking about:) LOL!

Had Bee this week and almost have my medium Poppins bag finished... I will NEVER EVER make another one! Never!!

So on with Pictures:

Here is the Army quilt.
Love the panel

We used an E2E pattern with the words bravery, courage, honor ,and valor.

He wanted the older camo fabric on the back.

Here is the Marine quilt.

Another panel and then mostly same fabric squares.
Same quilting also:)

His backing is the newest USMC camo fabric. I was a bit worried as it is nylon fabric but it quilted beautifully!

So have the next one loaded... a modern cacti quilt that I will custom quilt:) FUN!
Am only home 2 days so will see how far I get:)
Have a great week!!!

February is here!

The month just flew by! The weather has been it's normal up and down... 70's for a few days and then chance for snow on Wednesday:0 Crazy normal Texas weather:)

Got my custom quilt done and also the 2 commissioned quilt tops. Now to get them quilted and bound:) YEA!

Quiet otherwise...except for Dazi working hard:)

 Here are the pictures:
Gayle made this Bonnie Hunter Sew Many Strips quilt.
She called it Monster:) LOL! It is 103x103.

She wanted feathers so that was what I did!

Of course all the time I was looking at all the different fabrics:)
Could you imagine this in Christmas scraps? I can...oh no another project!

You can really see the quilting on the back!

Maxx and his bestest friend KoKo say Hi:)

Took a class on Friday:) Lots of fun!

Boring old cat fabric:) LOL!!!

There are 3 zippered compartments... I still do not enjoy zippers.
 I actually finished in class:)

Well will be edge to edge quilting the Army and Marine quilts and then load a
wall hanging for custom work.

Hubby and I have been walking 3-4x a week:) Am up to 3 miles every time:) Yea for us!!
Good to be active!
Here are our shadow selves:)
It was a bit chilly and windy so I was wearing my cat ear wrap... hence the ears:)

Have a great week and we might get to build a snowman this week:) LOL!!!! Not really!
