May starts next week:)

Hi All:)

Hard to believe May 1 is on Friday! I hope this madness calms down soon. I am a bit worried about them opening up too early so we have decided to keep to the same schedule for at least 2 weeks after they deem it safe. It's not like there is really any place special I need to go!

We were suppose to leave on the 29th to go to Ohio:( BOO!!! Daughter will have a virtual graduation and she is happy about that... instead of 4 hours and millions of grads it will be about an hour and 24 grads:)

It has been a bad allergy week... cottonwood... but I did get the quilt finished that was on the frame:)

This is Shaleem's third quilt.

I call it Amish but I don't think it is.
I didn't see the star until I unrolled it.

A great jelly roll pattern! 18 different thread colors were used. Ruler work to outline everything... stitch in the ditch... and the rest was free hand.

LOVE the backing fabric!!!

Got my PL made... panel was from Burnet box and all the solids were from my scrap boxes:)

I made 5 more PL's and used the Turning 20 pattern but only made 4 blocks. I needed something quick and easy after all those itty bitty pieces! I will post them after they all get quilted... might be awhile:)

Have another quilt ready to get loaded tomorrow and will work on it this week.
I am also cutting out a bunch of churn dash blocks for the next project... I know it never ends:) LOL!

This was my week to shop and all went well... found almost everything I needed and most people were wearing their masks and staying away:)

Have an awesome week!
Stay well and sew!!!

Hello! Hope you can hear my through my mask:)

I hope this finds you all well!

I found when wearing my mask to grocery shop my glasses kept fogging up:( So I found that if you wash your glasses with shaving cream it helps:) And it did! The mask was hot though:( Guess no germs were gonna get in! I made 2 more this week for friends and mailed them out.

Pretty much the same here as always! I quilted and sewed:) YEA!!!
We did get some rain and thankfully none of the bad weather! Beautiful sunshine and warm today so I am thinking we need to take a walk:) I need some sun!

I missed my massage this past week:( I really needed one too! Am hopeful they will be open next month:) I have given up on my hair and will just wait it out till I can get it buzzed again:)

So here is what I got done:

This hung on the design wall all week so I could figure out how to do the border on Frolic... Bonnie Hunters Mystery quilt.

Shaleems Texas quilt:)

Love the play areas:)

I custom quilted it everywhere:)

You can see some of my work on the backing fabric.

Frolic borders are all on:) YEA!!! The other side has the pink... um excuse me raspberry half square triangles. It is in line to be quilted after the customs are all done:)

Stitched this up real quick this week:) The hexies were cut from a free calendar that I got when I ordered some beautiful fabrics from Canada.

I hand quilted hexies all around. Now to find something to bind it with.

These were leftovers I was playing with on the design wall.
The strips were given to me and the flying geese were all leftover from Frolic....

So this is what I made:) A sweet Project Linus quilt:)
No I did not use everything that was on the wall...they will have to wait for another project.

Enjoy your week and stay well!

Hoppy Easter!

Hi All,

We had a Spring storm come through last night and it left 3 inches of rain:) Unfortunately some got in the studio again:( It only happens when the storm is whipping around sideways and there is a lot of rain...will win one day!

I had ordered a new crank from Etsy about 3 months ago from the UK. Finally got it in:) YEA!
Top pic is the before... see the piece of rod holding the handle in? There is a piece of cast iron missing one side. New one is complete:)

The decals are in better shape even though they do not match the machine..Oh well:)

Shaleem dropped off 4 quilts a few weeks back. This is the first one I have finished.

It was a BOM from the Salado shop.

I custom quilted it:) Rulers and freehand.

Really a sweet quilt!

My first peonies:) They are always the first and usually get beat to death by the rain and it happened again:(

Monday we went to pu hubby's car:)
He is like a kid in a candy store with a $20 bill:) LOL!

Here is a side view.

This is what I see and hear now from the studio. He has it stored in a car capsule. It is inflatable and really working great!

Son sent me this picture of his desk with the caption: I am now at a buffet:) LOL!!!

Youngest and son with their masks on:)

I had wanted to post Frolic top all done except borders but tuckered out:) Maybe next time!
Stay well and Sew on!!!

More April Showers....

Hi All,

To just be sequestered in your own home is one thing but for the weather to be all doom and gloom does not help! Not stir crazy yet:)

I hurt my lower back on Monday so there was no quilting. I actually rested my back a lot! I did sew on La Passion quite a bit and watched lots of tv! We are now watching Castle:) Great show!

So bad news:( DIL had a miscarriage Thursday night:( They are doing ok:)

The sweetest thing did happen on Friday... and it was pretty cold and rainy... but the teachers from the closest Elem school did a parade and drove up and down all the streets and honked at the kids:) Sure was a sweet thing to do!

So the quilting I have to show is from last week.
A PL from the Burnet Box:)

Edge to Edge quilting Fluffy:)

A Man's chemo quilt also from the Burnet box.

It is one large piece of a heavy fabric with fishies:)

E2E ripple.

My ironing board....

Really starting to look nasty. So.....

It is now all new again:) So bright and cheerful!

Since it appears everyone should be wearing masks when they are out I started making some for family and a few non sewing friends.

Frolic on the design wall. This is Bonnie Hunter's Mystery quilt that started last year. Slow and steady is my name:)

A few more masks. The ones with elastic are for the granddaughters.

And here is the next step for La Passion. There are 6 diamonds and they should... will..... all look like the largest one. Over 1000 hexies:)

Hubbys 56 Chevy is all done and ready to be picked and in the knick of time! The weather is to be clear on Tues and Wed so we will pick it pu :) He is SO excited! And So am I... it will keep him busy for a few days at least!

Am planning on quilting again tomorrow:) YEA!!!
Have a great week and stay well!
