September finally almost over:) YEA!

 Hi All,

Hope you had an awesome week!

We quilted quite a bit and got a few other things done also. The weather has been cool and now it is warm and humid again:( Suppose to cool off again tomorrow? Allergies are hitting us both but esp Hubby:(

My garden is still pretty wet and I even drained more water out of both containers. I had 1 squash, then 2, then 1 rotted, and then there was the one, now 2 and 3 but wait lost another one:( Hopefully get to pick a few before it freezes.

On with the pictures:

Our practice PL.

Neat E2E squares.

Now onto client quilt. This is Cheryl's. Had been in the closet for close to 20 years:)

She wanted squares E2E.

Flannel backing shows the quilting off!

Another practice PL.

Swirls

Elaine's BOM from Salado store I think.

The pink quilting really set off the different blocks.

And look it's reversible:)

Future baby boy quilt all done.

Use Dot to Dot E2E in a gray thread.

What's on my design wall now.... Bonnie Hunter Pumpkin Table runner.
Cousin is having her annual Halloween party next month so wanted to make this as a gift for her:)

The first of 2 memory quilts is finished.

Left the pockets open:)

A longhorn fan ... see the night gown snaps? I do like to include all parts of the clothing:)
I finally found some Dallas Cowboys fabric at a decent price so am waiting on that to finish up teh second quilt. All the clothing is ready... just need to sash, border, and quilt, trim, and bind. Guess there is still lots to do:)

Busy week and will be back to custom quilting starting tomorrow:)
Hope my back holds out until Thursday when I see my massage therapist! Plan to start scheduling her every 3 weeks instead of 4. I have lots to get finished!

Have an awesome week and enjoy this fall weather!

Fall has arrived:)

 Hi All,

The weather the past few days has been SO nice! No AC and the windows open for the kitties:) They do enjoy the live tv:)

Busy week with just one visitation:) Hopefully none this week. Had a few friends over on Friday and we went shopping and out to lunch:) Always fun!

We did computer quilting and will do more next week and then back to custom quilting. It sure clears out the line when we so many a week.

Ok on with pictures... I have more then I thought!

We warmed up with a PL.

Then onto Peggy's Frolic.

This was the Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt last year.

Love the cinnamon grunge fabric on the back!

Another practice PL.

And another... with the great inspector Bob at the helm:)

This is Linda's I call carnival quilt.

Used Mod Dot's in pink as the E2E pattern.

Turned out really nice!

This is also Linda's.

It's the Carpenters Star.

We used Fast Feathers design E2E with gray thread. LOVE this one!!!

Got my grandson's quilt top ready to get in line to be quilted.

These are what I bought at QIY... glittered grunge...wow!!! I got a yard of every color except the white I bought 2 yds:)

The 2 memory pillow tops are all done and the inserts are ordered then I will sew the backing on them... may need to cut them down some.

We got the stray cat habitats all refreshed and ready for winter:) I have 2 yellow squash:) Am surprised!
Hope the rain we are to get will not kill/drown/knock them off this week. But we do need some more rain... just not 8 inches this time!!!

Hope you have an awesome week!!!

Better week:)

 Hi All,

We only got 2.5 inches of rain and no funerals but one family friend did pass Friday morning so there is a visitation coming this week.

Had a few really nice cool days and could open the windows:) The cats do so enjoy live viewing:) LOL! They would run from window to window...they were really tired those days!

I quilted and then we redid the studio storage area so when it rains and leaks nothing except wheels will get wet:) LOL! We were able to move most of the cabinets next door to the new neighbors and they were so happy for garage storage items:) yea!

So on with the pictures:

Before..... Bob has no idea what is going to happen!

During...explosion of fabrics!!!

After:) I have already hung the hexie diamond quilt on the shelf wall:)
Now I have room to use that design wall.

I had heard that you could use the bottom of a rolling chair as a batting holder so on FB marketplace a gal had chairs for $5 and $10. So we went yesterday, told her what we were going to do and she took us to another shed that had IV poles in it. Yup perfect!!!

Rolls so smooth and was only $5.
She is on Simmons road on the right... I think they have items out all the time:) You could also search FB Marketplace for rolling chairs...there were ugly green ones:)

Finished Peggy's quilt!
It is Bonnie Hunter's Unity quilt.

Had Hubby hold it up so you could see it better.

She wanted it custom...so lots of ruler work and free motion quilting.

She used Grunge as the backing fabric...love Grunge!

Have been working on one of the memory quilts today and almost forgot to blog:)
Have an awesome week!

Flooding and funerals:(

 Hi All,

Well the title says it all!

Mon when I went to ck to see when the Friday funeral would be I saw another friend Lois Vertrees ... my MIL BFF... had passed and visitation was Mon night and funeral on Tuesday. So we went to both.

Then the rain came... and came... and came! 7 1/2 in worth! And yes it still managed to come into the studio:( UGH!!! I am now considering getting rid of the pressed board cabinets I have and that are starting to disintegrate and getting some metal rolling shelves. Of course they would be open so would need to invest in tubs or curtain. But at least I wouldn't have to worry about the cabinets collapsing. Even the bookcase and thread cabinet are their last legs as we usually move them so we can get the water up. So the extra $ spent on concrete did nothing:(

Then Thursday we had memorial/visitation of a dear dear friend that hubby spent most of his teenage years at the house. It was a tearful memorial! The Mass was on Friday. Then to cemetery. Then a marvelous fly over by some of the daughter's friends... she just retired from American Airlines as Covid hit and asked some of her retired pilot friends if they could fly over. They agreed and got all the clearances and it brought a tear to everyone's eye! Then home to change and pu cake I had made and back to house and eat and visit. We left about 7 and were back yesterday to pu a birdbath as a remembrance of Carmen Miranda... the sweetness, kindness, loving woman I ever knew! She never met a stranger!

They say it comes in 3's so on Thursday found out the guy I worked with setting up election stuff passed away. Thought that was all but no...last night another family friend in Hospice and today a sweet Bee member will be heading to hospice soon:(  Will September ever end!

I did sneak in some quilting in between everything? Not sure how!

So on with pictures:

Finished Dolly's quilt:)

All quilting freehand and ruler work.

Love the way it turned out!

The feathers added SO much! A peek at the backing fabric.

Roseanne made this sweet baby quilt for a friend.

She wanted it custom so that was what I did:)
Ruler work and a bit of Free motion.

Love the way it turned out also! Peek at the back:)

Did some machine embroidery today... the labels for the memorial items I have been working on.
Also have a quilt loaded to start custom quilting tomorrow.
Hope to be home more this week?

Have an awesome week!
