Hi!
Wow twice in one week:)
Well I got the Hummels done and wanted to get them posted.

Also went to the Austin Quilt Show yesterday and really enjoyed it! Such talent!!! The quilts were just stunning!!!!! Sure does inspire you!

Here are the Hummels:
Hubby is at one end and the other is pinned to the design wall. Yup it is huge!!!! 94x11 She put the outside ones facing out because they will be hanging off the bed.  Remember I quilted 2 of these lovelies:)
Closeup of one of the blocks.

 Top of quilt.

Have been practicing my feathers on some Project Linus Quilts so I will be ready to use on customer quilts!

Enjoy the cool weather and getting ready to be on a major quilting spree:)

Sept 10, 2012

Hello everyone!!!
What glorious weather we have been having! The windows are open and it is just so nice and cool in the morning!!!! Love cold fronts!!! Unfortunately we got no rain:(
The allergies have been acting up again:( Ragweed is in full season so I was down and out for a few days each of the last 2 weeks and I am now behind in my mind:) I have both Hummels quilted and one completely bound and the other about halfway done doing the handstitching :) Should finish it tonight:) yea!!! Need hubby to help me with a picture so will post that next time.
Mrs Taylor decided to drop off 10 little quilts from her gdaughters daycare so they are in line with Leigh's and Cassie's. Hopefully next week as this week is jam packed with things!
We had a wonderful speaker at the Temple Guild mtg last moth Sam Winover from Two Sisters Quilting and she had setup a booth at the Fredricksburg show earlier this month and I had to buy a little twister ruler. If you haven't seen this in action I took pics of the process. What fun!!! She will be at teh Austin Show thsi weekend to. Also check out her website...she is an internet store.

First you sew the quilt together. I know:) Found these lovely charm squares at Sew Creations in Kerrville.

Then you use your little template and start cutting.

Your quilt is starting to look like swiss cheese with all the holes:)
Here are the first row of pieces I cut out.

Here I laid out  part of the second and third row.....
 Swiss cheese....really!
Here are the first 3 rows sewn together. Really easy and adds a new meaning to cutting the fabrics, then sew the fabrics together and cut is back into pieces....You lose about 1/3 of the size....still need to finish this one up:)

Here is this months Snowman BOM all done:) Only 2 more and then the finishing kit:) yea!!! I am doing all the applique by hand.

Hopefully next week I will have the Hummel quilt pictures for you.
Oh by the way the kitties are growing so fast we had to move them out of their box and into a makeshift playpen. They are so adorable!!!! They are 25 days old today and looking for homes:) PLEASE!!!!!!
Happy sewing!

Aug 30, 2012

Hi all!

What a week it has been!!!!
I was sick 3 days last week when the ragweed started blooming:( Am better now as long as I take allergy meds every 4 hours:)
Then Isaac happened. My daughter lives in McNeil MS which is North of Picayune and South of Hattiesburg on 59. They are doing fine now. There has been 10 inches of rain and lots of wind but no damages. They had a generator so when the power went out they were ok. They slept in the hall bathroom for fear of tornadoes last night. The 2 of them, 2 large dogs and 2 cats....what fun! The chickens are ok to. They were in the hen house most of the time.

Ok so now onto quilting:)

I did get 4 Project Linus quilts done and a few customer quilts too:)

These are pictures of 2 pillows made by Helene for her daughters. I am also quilting 2 king sized quilts with the Hummel designs on them.

Here is also a picture of the new accessory for Dazi. It is a mini stipple handle. Sure made it a lot easier on my back using this for all the mini stippling in all the blocks!

This is a row quilt challenge from the Temple Guild that I participated in. I made the pinwheel block on the top and then it was passed to 5 other people and they added a row. We all worked together on the quilts.

This is my favorite row!

This is Cam's scrappy quilt that I just meandered on. It is a gift for a good friend.
This is also Cam's. It is her sorority wall hanging. She made one for one of the sisters for a bday gift.

Heading to Fredricksburg tomorrow for a quilt show with the girls. Will definetly stop in Marble Falls for Pie Happy hour at the Bluebonnet Cafe!
I will post pics of the king size Hummel quilt after I get the binding on it. I have 2 to quilt and bind for Helene so will be busy for a bit:)

Happy Sewing!

We have babies!!!!!

Hi everybody!

I am getting a dent in the stacked up quilting and the pictures are below but the big news is Miskiti had 6 adorable babies last night! She did a great job and is a good mommy! She had 2 gray, 1 gray and black, 2 black and white, and 1 black. If you or someone you know needs or wants a baby PLEASE let me know!!!!!

This is Christine's boy quilt. I loved playing with my swirls all over the quilt. Too cute!!!!

This is a tablerunner from Christine also. She is working on her Christmas gifts. Smart girl!

A lap quilt again from Christine. Had a fun time with the stars. Am playing more with new ideas and it is amazing how it changes the look of the quilt!

This is Dot's Star quilt. Like her baby quilt from last posting but much bigger:) haha!!

Love what she did in the borders! Yes the wording is directional and she did an awesome job with it!
 Another new quilting design:)

This is the Bunny Hill Snowman BOM from Quiltin Country in Killeen TX.
They have been very helpful in sending customer my way:) Gayle just let me play and I did:) There are freehand snowflakes throughout and panto snowflakes in the borders.

Am working on pillows and 2 king size quilts that Helen has machine embroidered hummels on. Absolutely stunning! Will post when they are done:)

Happy sewing and pray for rain!

Aug 5, 2012

Well August has arrived hotter than all get out! 100's everyday so far. Not as bad as last year when we had over 80 100+ days. I have a yard this year and my water bill is still high but not as bad as last year!

Well I was quilting away swirls on my quilter when the foot decided to break off:(  Really it broke off. So have another ordered so no quilting until it gets here:( Did get a few things done before the breakage.

This is Leigh's Canadian flag. It is for a dear friend that is ill. I got to play with swirls. They are SO much fun!

I had posted this picture before it was framed. Got to pick it up on Friday:) Love Love Love it!!!!!! I did the cross stitch by hand:) It is hanging over my fireplace in the place of honor:)

This is Dot's western baby quilt. She always lets me play but loves her stippling so did that and played in the stars.

This is Camille's sorority wallhanging she made for a sister. This is her first ever quilt of any kind. She did an awesome job! I didn't do the emb it was done in Germany before they returned here to Texas.

Well stay cool and Happy Stitching!
Oh and Miskiti is back and getting bigger everyday. Sure wish those babies would hurry up! I was thinking a free kitten with every quilt????
