November already?

Ok now I know I am getting forgetful but November? Where did October go????
It is true that time goes faster the older you get:( Not a good thing!

We had tons and I mean tons of rain this past week!!!! UGH!!! We were in a drought then bam almost 11 inches in a span of a week and in a few days not spread out all week:( We were fortunate to not have as much as Austin and San Antonio:( They got it really bad! Also did not go to Houston for Quilt Fest but was concerned for friends that did go as it rained all the way down to Houston and Saturday. Looks like they may have some clear weather for trip home. Hope they have no problems!

Of course with that much rain the studio just had to invite some in:( UGH!!! It only happens a few times a year esp when we got 2 inches in an hour:( It also happens when the wind is blowing 60 mph sideways... yup has happened before. Supposedly the only way to fix it is to dig up the concrete in front of the studio and put a drainage system in... lots of $'s so will just keep fans on the ready!

So didn't get as much quilting done as I had planned:( One I can't show yet... it is a challenge quilt and can not be out in the world until it has been accepted... hope it is!!!!

Was going to finish Marlene's yesterday but as you will see I could not get to frame so will finish tomorrow:)

Did get this done though:)

First up is Megan's Texas Panel.

Love the borders all around it. She will have for sale at the Officer's wives Bazaar in a few weeks:)

She and hubby have orders to Korea but she is going to mail quilts to me:) Cool!!!

Bianca was busy yesterday:) My second embroidery project. Had 39 color changes:(  Am a master at threading now for sure!!! Found a button that would of combined some of the color changes but of course was over 1/2 way done by then. I will remember for next time! It is a gift to a special gal that is turning 80 in a few days:)

I finished up a bunch of table runner s a friend gave me as UFO's.
Got them all quilted on Bianca:)

This is the studio yesterday:(

All dry again:)

Plan on quilting a bunch again this week:) The Christmas rush has started so I need to get started also:) ha ha!!!!
We have decided in the family and with friends no gift exchange this year so that takes all that pressure off us!!! Yea!!!!

Enjoy your week and hopefully we get lots of sunshine all week!!!

Wow Patricia was a strong on!

We got almost 7 inches of rain from the storm:) MUCH needed for sure!!!! The temps have dropped today so it feels like almost winter here in Central Texas:) Remember I said almost:) Will warm up to 80's by the end of the week and maybe more rain:)

Pu my new Bernina on Monday:)

With emb module.

Just as a sewing machine.

Sitting next to my Bernina 165. Nina is about 11 years old so you can really see the difference. Of course she was not the top of the line at that time.

All covered up for the night:)

Had Lunch bunch and Guild on Tuesday so nothing got done:)

Quilted this on Wednesday:

This is Gayle's Mistletoe Lane quilt.

I quilted a snowflake panto all over it.

And it is reversible:)

Played on Bianca Thursday and most of Friday:) ha ha!! Then we headed to Cedar Park to see one of my Favorite Christian bands.... For King and Country and Moriah Peters:) Awesome concert! Had a bag packed just in case the weather came early but we were lucky and drove home with no problems... we are 50 min from Center.

Our view:) Had awesome floor seats!

Almost at Center ice:)
Joel and Luke at Q&A.

Moriah Peters.

Joel and Moriah singing together. They have been married over 2 years now:)

Great shot of Joel and Luke.
The whole For King and Country Band!

Rained all day yesterday so Bianca came out to play a bit more:) I feel like I have the basics down pretty well so far:) Have classes in January since I don't want to go nights!

I have been spending WAY TOO much time on FB and Instagram. I love seeing all the Market posts! Man are there some beautiful collections out there!!!! I have put a few on my wishlist already:)

Home most of next week so will quilt, quilt, and quilt:)

Finished my last seasons stitchery:)

This is usually what I see when I am doing handwork:) That is my KoKo!!!

Ya'll enjoy the week and I hope I have tons of quilted pics to show you!!!!

WHOOOOO!!!! The weather has finally cooperated!

Today is day 2 of keeping the windows open:) I think Fall is finally here after 100 degrees last week! We broke 2 very long ago set records on temperatures:( Don't like those! The leaves are really falling now... may be due to Fall like weather or still because of no rain:( Either way it is beautiful in Central Texas!
I got some quilting done this week and my studio is all rearranged for Bianca's arrival tomorrow:) The 6 needle is loaded in the car for it's drive to Austin tomorrow:) Funny how moving that one machine out gave me SO much room:) Or at least the illusion of it:)

On with the pictures:

Ummmm Bob seems to think this space is for him... not:) ha ha!!! He will be surprised for sure:)

Jill made this jaw dropping ... at least in my opinion... flying geese quilt for her SIL for Christmas..

It is a modern western quilt. There are chambray fabrics in it along with the occasional brown.
We decided on the quilting design and dark brown thread.
It is even reversible!!

Dot made this scrappy Cardinal Christmas quilt:)

So busy we decided to just loops all over in gold thread:)

Turned out really beautiful:)

I think Dot named this her Summer Blue quilt? It's the 9 patch that gets cut and moved around a bit block. The Disappearing 9 patch maybe?

Feathers in border along with 8's and then stipple in the middle.

Such a girlie quilt:)

Suzi made this western quilt for a friend that has lung cancer.

I think it's the Disappearing 9 patch block and beautiful Western fabrics.

Just loops and stars all over:)

This is only Michelle's second quilting adventure:)

She cut all the horse blocks out and then bordered them with the black.

She did a great job! I finished it up for her as she needed it for her sister's birthday:)

Got 2 more of my BOM done... the last 2 are on their way already!

Guess that's all from my little studio:)
Busy week next week as will be on the road 2 days and then a concert on Friday night in Cedar Park. Hope to get a bit of quilting done and becoming close friends with Bianca:)

Have an awesome week!!!!

Keeping busy:)

Hi all,

Well running late today as we were installing our new microwave over the range. The old one just went up and died for no reason and it was only 18 months old. No extended warranty for me! I of course was not going to pay someone $130 to install it when I knew we could do it for $0. So the new one we thought would just slide right into the bracket of the old one... nope of course not! So we had to drill new holes, take off old support bracket and install new one... yes we did try to use it:) Then of course the cord hole was in the wrong place. Got it all installed and guess what???? How do you get the vent tube to go through your ceiling with the microwave in the way???? Duh! You have to have it there first... I think we installed it 3 times but she is up and running now:) I never knew how much I used a microwave until we didn't have one for about a month.

I did get some quilting done this week:

Megan had this quilted in Colorado before she moved here. The gal did a pantograph all over the whole thing and Megan did not want that so her friends unquilted it all for her and it came to me. I was able to make it look more like she wanted except for the pictures... you can't get the big holes punched through them with the needle out. The other holes you can just wet and rub the fabric a bit and it all goes back together.

Love this background fabric!!!!

Great applique and embroidery.

State flower Columbine I think.

And the backing.

Isn't this the sweetest baby quilt! Also Megan's.

I made sure to take a picture of the giraffe for you know who:)

Great backing!

My September Bertie block all done:)

My October hanging up:)

Elaine made this cute quilt. It is just yardage with 2 borders.

I got to play on this one so there was a lot of ruler work... lots of straight lines!

And the backing matches:)

I also got 2 Project Linus quilted:)

This is the empty space waiting for.... my new machine..... Bianca... the  Bernina 880:)
I am trading in my 6 needle and then picking Bianca up on the 19th:) yea!!!!!!

  • BERNINA 880
  • I copied this picture from the Bernina site..... am SO in love!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just having a hard time waiting!!!!

Enjoy the week... we are having warmer temperatures again which makes
the cedar and ragweed happy but me not so much:(
