January is almost done......

The weather has been nice and the cedar horrible:( I have been able to keep functioning so far:)

I finished one custom quilt and started the next one... both are for Tricia so hopefully it will get finished this week:)

Had Bee on Friday... always a fun time and I got some sewing done also:)

MIL has the flu and is quarantined at her assisted living center. So hubby was home all weekend:) He is off again next weekend as his Sister is due to spend a few days. I am hoping to start the remodeling of his bathroom... we have the vanity purchased and will start by tearing out the old original tile on the wall... we will go slow but steady:)

Okay enough about me:) Here are some pictures:)

Kathy made this sweet quilt for one of her grandson's.

I meandered using King Tut thread called Joseph's Coat... perfect for the many colors:)

Love the backing and border set in triangles.

Kathy also made this quilt from one of the Guild classes last year.

Just loop meandered..... love the flowers!

Plain muslin backing.

Got these 5 sewn at Bee:) The next Steampunk BOM will be shipped next week so I am still caught up:)

And PURRRRfect is finished:)

I quilted all those lines on Dazi... took for ...ever!!! I got it done before I reopened.
The butterflies have been treated with a stiffening spray and are fluttering around.

The backing was in the stash. I had to order the binding fabric since I couldn't find anything in Dallas... found it on Etsy.

The next row on Millie is all made... have started sewing them all together. There is one more row to this Rosette.

Well that's all from here.... home most of next week so there will be quilting going one for sure!!!
Have a great week!

From winter coats to tshirts all in one week?

That is how the weather was this week....  temps ranged from 11 to 72 this week? SO crazy!!!! Will have to see what next week brings!

I did get some quilting done but can't show them all to you since they have not been picked up yet.... next week you will see them:)

Marlene made this tie quilt.

I used red thread and meandered all over... way too busy for anything else.

She sent minkee as the backing fabric.

Here is a man's chemo quilt I finished up this week.

Water ripples all over:)

Backing fabric came with the kit:)

My FIL shirt quilt is all done:( YEA!!!!

These were all in his closet and I paper pieced the blocks using a Bonnie Hunter pattern. I did an allover meander in a light grey.

Backing was a shirting I found on sale online:) Score!! Binding is a solid blue. Now need to make  a a label and then give to my nephew.

Another male chemo quilt all done:)

I did freemotion swirls in red thread all over.

A wild backing Pat picked... it does have all the colors in it:)

Millie #4 rosette almost has another row added to her:)

Block #13 for my Bee quilt.

Pretty quiet otherwise around here... I have a custom that I have been working on and it should get done this week:) Then another is right behind it... won't be able to show either one until they are delivered:) I don't like customers to see their quilt before they pu so they fall in love with them instead of the picture:) Plus it is a surprise:)

Stay healthy my friends!!!

I am back... well almost:)

Tomorrow I will be back to quilting for customers:) YEA!!!

I SO enjoyed my time off!!! Not a whole lot of quilting but a bit of sewing and resting:)

We had a wonderful Christmas and both granddaughters loved their quilts:) The ABC and State map ones. MIL also came and spent the day.

New Years was just the 2 of us and we were in bed before the fireworks:)

Since 2018 started I have been going and going it seems.... joined a new Bee called We Care... chemo, PL, and pillowcases are made. Then there was the Waco Shop Hop, Lunch Bunch, and then a trip to Dallas Area for a few days. And Jan is halfway over already???

I should be home for the next 2 weeks except for groceries and my reg Bee next Friday:) Which is good because there is another cold front.... oh we have had a few and some snow also:)...that is to bring more snow and really cold temps! I am just hoping all this cold weather kills some of the bugs!!!! The heater has been lovely! So glad we got it replaced!!

Here are a few pics of what I have been ding while I was away:

These are the first 10 Steampunk blocks I have made... have the next 5 cut but not sewn. The curves are SO much easier then I thought it would be!

Purrfect is now quilted, trimmed and waiting for a binding... have not found anything I like yet:(

I made this lace angle with Bianca's help for my friend Linda:) MIL saw it and wants one for her Bday:)

3 more Sue Spargo Birds done:)

Rosette #3 is finished:)

2 more Bee quilt blocks stitched.

An apple chemo quilt all quilted for Pat.

More apples on the back!

And another one. I have a chemo and a PL quilted and the binding just needs to be sewn on. I also finished FIL shirt quilt except for the binding:) Maybe next week I can show you:)

#4 rosette started:)

Old curtains in the studio

New curtains:) YEA!!! I had the old ones in the sewing room in the house right after my daughter left for boot camp.... that was over 15 years ago.... yes I needed new ones! I moved them to the studio when it was remodeled. Found the fabric at Stitched with Love shop in McKinney:) Perfect!!

Bianca and I made this snowman... machine embroidery.

Guess that's about it from here... am still working on handwork and will do binding when it get cold again... ummm tomorrow:)

Everyone stay safe and healthy!!!
