Survived the first week:)

LOL!!! It really just feels like he was on vacation this week...I have a feeling it won't seem real until after the holidays! He has been very helpful and I have an ongoing list of things we need to do for the week:) Out of 12 items for this week we got 10 done...the other 2 may be on the list for a few weeks.

I got the computer up and running so quilted a PL to test it out. No issues:) There were only...and I mean only...4 hours taken up to do computer updates:( UGH!!! Wasted most of the day! But it is all good now and I have a note reminding me to check for updates:)

I did get a client quilt finished and another loaded and am about 1/2 way through it:) Hope to finish next week and then just one more quick one and I will be done for the year:) Nice to get done early and not be stressed out!

On with the pics!

Nancy made this for her granddaughter. She is making a quilt for each grandchild when they graduate high school. She will officially graduate in Dec but is visiting for Thanksgiving so it will be gifted then:)

All she wanted was red, black, and green as her colors.

I used the computerized Featheration design in black to quilt it. Love the backing fabric!!!

This is the PL I quilted:) My 8 yo granddaughter said she didn't like princesses or purple anymore so I made a PL instead of a pillowcase:)

Digital quilting with light purple thread.

Backing I have had in my stash a long long time!!! Think I used it for the 8 yo bedding when she was born:)

This is what's on the frame now:)

Making Bianca work some today:)

Hope you have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving to you!!!

Hubby is officially retired:)

As of Friday Hubby is retired:) His job Bates Nissan in Killeen gave him a sweet farewell after working there almost 31 years.  There was cake and gifts! His sister and hubby drove in from Cedar Creek...about 2 hours away, son took time off from work, and my daughter flew in from Ohio while her hubby drove down from Dallas where his job had him this past week. Lots of surprises!!!

Here is a family picture:)
( Daughters Hubby, Brother in Law, Sister in Law, Daughter with me in front, Hubby, and son)

And here are the gifts:)
There were a lot of tears!

Okay so I did get some quilting done:)
Here is Dazi showing off her computer:) LOL!

Nancy made this Marines quilt.

A panel and a disappearing 9 patch for the blocks.

Love the writing!!!

My BOM that I got frustrated with is done.
Of course I didn't get all the blocks done but that is ok!

Love the quilting design. Hope a chemo patient loves it too!

Stars for the backing.

Nancy also made this quilt.

I quilted snowflakes in a light gray thread so you can't really see them.
The deer is a great panel!

Here you can really see the snowflakes!

So the daughter is back in Ohio and also her hubby so we are back to our normal:) LOL!
Tomorrow is hubby's first day of retirement and he plans to go to the shooting range:) Me? Well I have a quilt loaded and will sew:)

Have a great week!!!!

Fall is in the air!

November has a forecast to be the coldest November. We will see but it is suppose to get to 24 Tuesday night so I think they might actually be right! Already had a freeze or 2. Also got an inch of rain this past week. As long as it's not cold and raining the same time we will be ok! Not a big fan of ice!!

Somewhat quiet week with an allergy sick day:( UGH! Once the temps go up so does the pollen count:( Waldo took allergy pills for 2 days and was better so I think I will only give them to him when he sneezes a lot. Poor guy slept all day...way more than his normal nap time! Otherwise he is back to his normal:)

Did get some things done:
Dot made this quilt for her grandson. He picked the fabric:)

Love it!!! Used the computer to quilt ripples all over.

Love how it shows in the border fabric.

The backing...he scuba dives. So a reversible quilt:) LOL!

The sharks are just swimming among the ripples!

So Hubby really liked the pirate fabric so ordered him some and made him a pillow case:) He loves it! I also made the girls and myself one while I was at it. The pillowcases will go with a book for Christmas.

Got these 2 Project Linus quilted and bound.

Used paw prints.

Just sweet!

Didn't have enough backing so got creative!
I also got a chemo quilt quilted but still need to finish the binding.

So more quilting this week and.... Hubby retires Friday!!!

Have an awesome week!

Happy November!

Hi All,

There was a joke on Facebook this past week.... Texas dressed up as Winter....well played:)
Yes we had our first frost and it was so pretty! Days are cool and nights are cooler:) Yes we had to run the heater and it works SO well!!

Had to take our eldest to vet on Monday. Waldo is 14 and had some kind of virus. He started feeling better but still had issues and I told the vet the side effects of antibiotic was his symptom so we stopped it and he is all good except now he is back to sneezing. Will see if there is an antihistamine I can give him. Poor dude!

Got a few items quilted and heard from Missy last night and she gave me a few ideas to fix my issue. So will give it try tomorrow after I load another Project Linus quilt to practice on. Of course it was human error:) LOL!

So on with pictures:

First up is a PL I made.

Jamie from my Bee gave me all the squares and I added the turquoise.

And look what I found in my stash:) Perfect!
I gave it to Pat to do the binding since I was out of the turquoise fabric. Just loops all over/

Margaret made this fall quilt.

Love the paisley fabric!

Just stippled all over.

Dot made this Pull Toy hand embroidered quilt.

Was fun doing a bit of custom on it:)

She even found the perfect backing fabric!

This was made from 2 panels I bought in Jan from our Shop Hop in Waco.

Sweet bag for my youngest granddaughter for Christmas.
The bunny can be taken out.

When you open it up there is a unicorn and a bed and one doll.

Here is the second doll and you can see into her wardrobe. Was fun to make!
So I am done Christmas shopping..everything arrives tomorrow from where else but Amazon... and I just have 2 pillowcases to make.  We only do gifts for the girls now. SO much easier!

Was at Bee this week and really worked hard on my Bonnie Hunter project... I only...yes only...need 1000+ half square triangles:) LOL Yes I think I am insane:)
I saw her mystery quilt Frolic supply list and I am going to make that one but I will wait till I am done this this one first! Doesn't mean I can't buy fabric for it already:) That's just planning ahead!

Hubby only has 10 more working days till retirement!

Have an awesome week !
