April Showers better bring May flowers:)

After a rainy week... we were fortunate to only get 4 inches all week. Houston got those 13" in 6 hours:(  No major flooding in the studio except one day... the last one of course it came in and I had to use the fan to dry it but all in all not bad:)

The cottonwood is blooming and my allergies are on high alert:( When it blooms it looks like snow:( Yup I call it Texas snow. It gets everywhere and in everything:( Of course the rain just helped it along..... more drugs and more sneezing:(

Did get some quilting done this week plus a few other things:)

Mary W. made this bright BOM quilt,

Love the colors! The borders have the Washington Monument in it. She bought it from the designer Jenny Haskins.

The stripe sashing pulled it all together.. I played with each block.

Here you can see the fun feathers in the border.

This is a chemo quilt I got finished.

Just loops. Made from a jelly roll and yardage. I have another already made just needs to be quilted.

Janice made this BOM quilt.

Quilted swirls in the background. She wanted the blocks to float.

Feathers and bee-board quilting in the border. Have such a hard time making the board lines match on each side. Still looks awesome!

Got to play in all the blocks:)

Backing view of feathers.

Ophelia made this Texas quilt.

Feathers and specialty quilting in all the blocks.

Sorry for the shadow hand but I finally got to take a quilt outside for the best sunny day we had all week:)

Close up inside studio.

Bianca stitched this out yesterday. I will make it into a pillow for MIL for Mother's Day. Of course Bianca decided after I set her back up for sewing to have her needle threader get stuck so I couldn't sew? Turned her off a couple of times but it didn't go back. Called store and she walked me through a few options... nope did not work:( She will go next week for a spa day since I get 2 free ones the first year anyway. Well this morning turned her on and all went back to the original position??? Guess she was just tired???

The hexie project I am working on. I have used all scraps so far:) Only 4 more sections to make before I start basting the black and white filler hexies:)

Well no rain until later this week so am happy about that! I am a sunshine gal and that will help!

Have an awesome week!!!!

Rain, Rain, Rain!

That pretty much is the forecast for the weekend and most of next week:( We do need it but I am a sunshine gal:)

Was home most for the week so got a few things done:)

Sue made this adorable sea turtle quilt!!!

Water ripples and bubbles all over:)

This is her lake house spare room quilt.

Love it!!! All the time I was quilting it I was thinking... I want a lake house:)

Just loops all over:)

Hubby and I got my rug frame built yesterday:) Just need to add 6 more screw eyes... I forget to buy them:( and then I can start making rugs:) I don't have enough to do anyway:) haha!!! I am asking for  t shirts.... old and in any size and shape:) I need red, black, blue, and white ones:)  So when you clean out your closets or go to a garage sale think of me:) please!!!!!

I have one more quilt finished but will deliver it next week and don't want her to see it:) I also have one on the frame about 1/2 way done:)

My studio is in an uproar this weekend:( With the forecast calling for up to 4+ in of rain I have had to take my evasive measures for flooding:( What a mess!!! It does seem to work if I prepare... meaning that we usually don't get the forcasted amount... hope! Even if we do I have all the towels down to hopefully catch it! Bob is none to happy about his bed and toys being moved!

Well am off to hand sew the binding down on a chemo quilt:) I finished another top today:)

Have a great week and hope I stay dry!!!!

Spring weather:)

It has been a strange week weather wise... 80's one day and then cold front with or with out rain and only in 70's.  Daughter in Ohio got snow... glad I am not there!!! I guess this is our normal:)

It was a busy week but didn't feel like I got a lot done... unless you see the 1 quilt I got done. I started it on Monday, worked on it Tuesday and most of Wed and then had to walk away!  Thursday I did errands and Friday was Bee. So back at it some Saturday and finished it today. I don't know how the ladies custom every quilt... I like the break with something simple in between:)

Ok this is what I did get done:)

Dolly made this stunning Judy Niemeyer Wedding Ring quilt.

Super custom work!

Mostly ruler and a little freehand... the pebbles and swirls.

You can really see all the quilting I did on the back. Just stunning!!!!

The last 2 Berties are done:)

My dear Friend Kathy D gave me these absolutely adorable hand towels that will never be used!!!! Thank you again Kathy!

Another  Lucy Boston Cross done:) Only 13 more:)

I had so much fun making Gemma I am working on Jax:) Learned a lot the first time so it's much easier this time! Yes he needs eyes still... had to work on other things:)

I had all this fleece laying around waiting for a project I didn't want to do anymore so gave it all to Pat from PL. She cut, scored and crocheted them all. Today I had Bianca emb them all:)

They will go to a child in need:)

This is my only sunflower this year. I protected it from the tree trimmer guy and from Hubby when he mowed and it was all worth it!!!

I am home all but one day this week so my quilts in line should go down? I have  18 in the closet and one loaded for tomorrow. Also I think 1 or 2 coming in tomorrow:) Job security!!!

Have an awesome week!

April has arrived!!!

Hi All!
Hope everyone had a productive week:) I did not..... well I did but not as much as usual.

Monday had a memorial of a BFF'S hubby to attend. Had lunch afterwards with Bee members and hubby so it was after 2 when I finally got home.... not much happening then!

Tuesday and Wednesday I quilted. Thursday errands all day. Friday we were suppose to go to San Saba show but horrible rain and dropping temps made me cancel that trip. Since my mind set was not on quilting I sewed for me:)

Saturday evening went to an absolutely awesome concert with Hollyn, Building 429, Britt Nicole, Capital Kings, Colton Dixon, Finding Favour and Toby Mac. So inspiring and uplifting!

Then today hubby and I headed out in the truck to see bluebonnets!!! Went to Lampassas to Burnet to Llano to Fredricksburg to Johnson City to Marble Falls to Burnet to home:) Lovely drive! we saw the most beautiful bluebonnets and Indian blankets from Burnet to Llano! SO worth the drive. Didn't get any pictures as the good spots were all in a dangerous place for us to be:( Never the less we will have the pictures in our minds for a long time!!!

Well here are pictures of things I did get done:)

I got another Lucy Boston's Crosses done:)

Roseanne let me quilt this one for her and all she said to have angles on it.

She loved it!!! All ruler work:)

Back looks good too!

Another Lucy Boston block:) Only 14 more to go:)

Finished Gemma:) Finally just out her on Dazi and quilted her:) Love how she turned out. Already have Jax's picture ready to start:)

Bob posing:)

Wait what's over here????

2 more Bertie's all finished! Just 1 more to do some hand sewing on and all will be done:) yea!!!

Hope you have a great week and get lot's done! I hope I do also!!!
