March almost done.....

Hi all,

Weather has been beautiful and then the last... at least we hope... cold front blew in yesterday:( At last no freezing temperatures but back to wearing warmer clothing again:(

Dazi arrived on schedule Monday and that night Hubby and I hooked her back up:) Tuesday I was back quilting:) YEA!!!! She runs like a dream again:) I finally got the quilt that has been loaded this whole time finished and another started.

We went to Bastrop Friday night and spent the night because the eldest granddaughter had her first dance competition at 8:30 Saturday morning. Well she actually didn't get on stage until almost 11 but it was fun watching all the others dances:) Her group performed twice and won 2 First Place trophies and a 3rd Place trophy:) Great for her first time:) They were awesome!!!! Next weekend we head to Lockhart:)

Okay so on with some pictures:

First up: Sue Spargo Birds quilt top is all done:)

Closeup... now it will wait to be quilted:)

This is Janice's Stack and Whack Stars quilt.

I think it turned out beautiful!  All free hand and ruler work:)

And here is the back.

Well while we were in Bastrop I found this sweet little quilt shop:)  Found a few items I had to have:)
So if you are ever over there stop in at Caledonia Cottage Quilt Shoppe.
There are 2 in Lockhart we will be visiting:)

We have a mtg with a lawyer tomorrow to probate the in laws will so we can change the name on the property so we can sell it:) Slowly getting there:)

Hope everyone has an awesome week!!!

Spring has Sprung:)

Hi All,

GREAT news!!!! Dazi is to arrive back tomorrow:)  Hubby and I will set her up that night and I should be back quilting Tuesday:) WHOOOO!!!! I am ready!

Quiet week around here... got a table runner and a set of potholders made:) And I started a new quilt:) I know:)

We also hung the new blinds it the living room yesterday so the living room is finally complete:) Hubby has everything he wants out of the MIL garage so now son gets to go through it. We still have the shed to clear out. Have a mtg with lawyer in a week to probate the will and then we will get the house on the market. The neighbor lady is taking about 1/2 of the furniture:) Will call Goodwill after that and the rest goes on the curb. Getting close:)

Here are the pictures:

Table Runner from a Connecting Threads pattern and my fabrics:)

Forgot how long it takes to machine blanket stitch! Used Bianca .... Bernina 880... to quilt it. Looks great on the dining room table:)

Have been looking for new potholders but haven't found anything I liked so made my own:)

My new quilt project:) The fabrics I am using are all scraps from the Steampunk quilt I made last year and the backgrounds are from a Zen Chic bundle I got last year... time to use it after all the petting I did:) The trunks to the trees are all appliqued on afterward.. will see how that goes!

I am taking a Bonnie Hunter Class in April and have all my fabrics cut and ready to go:) I am also taking a Shannon Brinkley class and need to get that together;) Staying busy for sure!!!

Have a great week and enjoy the awesome weather!!!!
Get some sewing done:)

No quilting this week:(

Yes Dazi was shipped off to be repaired on Wednesday. We tried again on Monday to repair her and then packed her up on Tuesday... takes both of us to get her off the frame. She is to arrive in Hiawatha Iowa on Monday:)

Of course I found quite a bit of things to do to keep me out of trouble:)

Since I bought new bobbin thread for Bianca she has been a happy girl which also makes me happy!
I now have 2 new sets of kitchen towels:) I made these towels from hucking fabric I have had for years on a bolt.

These Christmas Kitties were stitched on IKEA towels... not great quality but good towels!

I made these 2 boxes for the girls for their upcoming birthdays. They are Altoid boxes.

With Kitties:) They can take out and play with them:)

Poor frame is all lonely without Dazi:(

One chemo top finished.

Last 2 blocks sewed up.

Second Chemo top done:)

Also got my BOM made:)

Hope to get a few more UFO's done/going this week along with Guild meeting and Bee:) The week will fly by!!!

We did a quick run to Austin yesterday to pu a machine from the spa and sold more books and albums to Half Price books. We are definitely clearing out stuff!
Today we hung up the new blinds in the dining room and also cleaned out our shed:) We had bought a shelf a few months ago but it has either been raining or too cold to build it...all done today:) Also threw away a bunch of stuff and it all looks so nice and clean! We had to make room for the lawn care stuff that will be moved over after MIL house sells.
So that leaves a bit to do in the house and still the garage which Hubby will work on next weekend as we are to get rain most of the weekend.
Have an awesome week!!!

Beautiful week with a major hitch!

The weather was just beautiful!!! Well after the cold snap we had... I think we are at about 5 winters so far:) Suppose to get another towards the end of the week:( Had a good downpour yesterday... 1/2 in:) Then sunshine:) Always an adventure!

Okay the hitch:( Dazi dropped 2 screws the week before but I did not know where they were from and all seemed to work well so just kept quilting:) Well Monday all went well but Tuesday afternoon she decided to act up big time!!! Would not pick up thread:( So Wednesday I called Nolting and they said the screws were from her hook assembly... where the bobbin goes:0 What???? So I am to retime her. Well had errands Thursday and Bee on Friday so just putzed and sewed a bit:) Saturday Hubby and I tried to retime... see that I said tried?  Multiple times:( Unfortunately we were unable to get her working correctly:( So I will call again on Monday.... might have to send her for a spa trip:( Which means I will be down for at least 2 weeks:(  I will still be able to get the show quilts and the graduation quilts done in time though:) Will let you know what goes on....

On the good news front.... the tile is FINALLY finished!!!! Yea!!!! I called Monday and let them have a few choice words and Wednesday the guys came and finished up... why do we have to always have to get mad before anything gets done? We are SO SO done with Home Depot!!! Their customer service is at the bottom of their list!

So with that we ordered our new cabinet that will lift up my Kitchen Aid mixer from Lowe's yesterday:) They also have the second cabinet in stock so will pick it up when the special order one comes in. I called the quartz people directly and I can get my top straight through them. YEA!!!! We also gathered information for new blinds:) I will pick one up Tuesday and have them cut it and then we will install in dining room... if we like them we will get 2 more for the living room. They are 2" wood look white cordless blinds:) Nice!!!

So I made this minkee/cuddle fabric quilt last weekend:) It's a Project Linus quilt.

Still have more fabric.....

Look more Spring in the Studio:) LOL!!! The pink Hyacinth is about finished but the blue is just starting:)

Got 3 more blocks made at Bee. Only have 2 more to sew:)

The kit is for all 12 blocks but I am making 2 chemo quilts so here is the first one in progress:) Just long sashing, cornerstones, and borders to add:)

I saw this again on facebook:) Wish I could find the design!!

Hope everyone has a sewterrific week!

Calendar says Spring is close.....but it is lying!!!!

 Hi All:)

Yes the calendar is wrong!!!! The trees and flowers have started to peek out but dang it another cold front is heading our way:( 24 tomorrow night and only up to 35:( UGH!!!!! And it has been dreary and rainy all week:(

The weather has been so miserable we didn't go to the Texas Stars  hockey game in Cedar Park last night. We take a lot of back roads and with the rain and fog there was no way we were going to attempt it:( So we watched  the Dallas Stars game on TV.... both teams did win:)

No tile guys showed up this week:( I am about at the point that it will never be finished:(

I did get some things done this week since I was home for most of it:)

I made another Minkee/cuddle and flannel Project Linus quilt:)

SO cute!!! I have another cut and ready to go.....

Finished up my Days of the Week Butterfly kitchen towels... they are being used:)

I have more towels about ready for embroidery... I need a cat set:) LOL!!!

Janice made this beautiful Bear quilt.

I custom quilted it... love how the tree came out!

And that cork look fabric is something else!!!

Here is the back... lots of filler around those bears!

Martha made this spring like Bargello quilt. Sure was nice to quilt on a dreary day!

I did a Featherization pantograph all over it in a light teal thread.

And it is reversible:) LOL!

I bought 2 of these Hyacinth plants last week and gave one to a good friend:) Mine is already starting to bloom:) Beautiful!!!!!

Just love having the pop of color against the gray skies!

So I got the pictures from my class downloaded finally....

It was a ton of fun and we should make it a monthly meeting:) LOL!!! They know they can call anytime:)

So home most of the week and have a quilt loaded for tomorrow and have Bee Friday:)

SO everyone please stay warm and sew sew sew!!!!
