August is around the corner!

Hard to believe it will be here next week already! Also no 100 degree days yet. The humidity is back after a lovely cold front came through this past week. Lows in the 60's and highs just in the 80's:) Hope winter will not be bad!!!

Busy week yet again! The house was put on the market Thursday morning and after 3 showings we have 2 offers:) We have decided and will sign the paperwork later today:) YEA!!! Then just 30 days and hopefully it will all be over!

I did get quite a bit of quilting done this week also:) Which is good since I won't have but maybe 1 day to quilt this coming week... a 2 day class and Trust things I really need to get done so lots of time on the phone.

On with pictures:

Yvonne made this from her sister's hand embroidered blocks.

I stitched around the horses and then put a frame inside the blocks.

Some ruler work and lots of freehand.

Pat W made this cat quilt for her grand daughter.

Love the kitty:)

Never thought to make my own fabric with decorative stitches! Great idea!

Loops and curls with a flannel backing. She made matching sheets and pillowcases also:)

Pat W again:)  Another grand daughter:)

Loops and curls again and then outlining and filling in on the Unicorn.

         Another flannel backing.

Foxy is finished:)

I took a Shannon Brinkley class a few months ago and got Foxy quilted this week and bound. It was a lot of fun so I do see another scrappy applique quilt in the near future!

Found the cutest fox fabric for the backing. He will go to Project Linus:)

My La Passion has grown a bit more:) I am still stitching filler flowers.

My Pfeffernusse by Bonnie Hunter has borders and the backing is ready. Now I need to get her quilted:)

Hubby had another dermatology surgery Friday...his other ear. He is doing okay but said he will NEVER go through this again! So he is wearing his hat and sunscreen...you heard it here first so I hope it actually happens!!!

Have an awesome week and stay cool!!!

Quilt Show is done:)

This was a VERY busy week!!! Our Guild had their Quilt Show.... We setup on Wednesday...Hubby and I worked for about 6 hours....we also hung the beautiful quilts. Friday I attended show with friends and then yesterday Hubby and I went to take quilts down and to tear down. Lots of work but I think it was a success!!!
So Millie did not do as well as I thought she would:( Competition was tough!

She did get an Honorable Mention and was chosen for a Wildflower Award from the Diamond Quilting Bee. It is a sponsored award with $50:)

My Dresden got a first:)

She is a Crabapple Hill pattern:)

I did get one quilt done:) Brenda's Mylar Santa's.

Lots of curls and snowflakes.

The only treasures I bought at show....I was really good!!!

Have a quilt loaded to start tomorrow:)

MIL house almost finished should be on market this week:) YEA!!!!!
Pfeffernusse just needs her borders...one is the yellow from the show:) So hopefully next week you can see it.

Have a great week!

More rain and humidity:(

So for our July there still have been NO 100 degree days...surprise!!! We did get a bunch of rain again but we are okay with that. We drove to Georgetown on Friday and everything was so green...unheard of here in Texas in July!!!!

So we went to Georgetown to get 2 of Hubby's Basal Cell Carcinomas taken off...they did it three times before they got it all and he got stitches:( Poor guy! On was on his left ear and the other on his cheek below his eye. Now we have to keep them covered until we go back in 2 weeks to get the other ear done. Fun times:) LOL!!! We were there 4 hours so I got 3 flowers made for LaPassion...at least I did something while I was there:) Then late lunch and back home.

The appliances arrived for MIL house and the range was damaged:( So back it went. Of course it is special order and won't be in till the 3rd so I ordered from Home Depot and it should be delivered on Wed....I did say should didn't I? I have not cancelled the other one yet. Most of the flooring is in and it is starting to look like a house instead of a storage facility for tools and stuff:) The Garage door people called and gave me an estimate over the phone???? Nope did not accept and the guys are going to try to fix them for me. I am surprised some of these companies are still in business!

So on the quilting side...I did get 3 done this week and have one loaded for tomorrow:)
Want to see? Of course you do:) LOL!!!

Mary G made this quilt for her daughter. She had spent some time in Europe and visited Disney so wanted a memento for her son.

Light quilting as requested.

One of the borders. Mary painstakingly appliqued them all down and also made the flags from ribbon.

And of course Mickey backing fabric:)

Mary also made this runner.

Just straight line quilting except around wording then I did curls.

And even stitched in a star or 2 which you can only see on the back.

Brenda called this one a charm pack quilt.

All that gold in the fabrics.

I stippled with King Tut gold thread.

Yesterday Hubby and I worked on Pfeffernusse a bit. He cuts the blocks apart and also snips the seams so I can get little pinwheels on the back so the blocks lay flat. Great assistant!!!

Another BUSY week coming with our Quilt Show next weekend. Hubby and I will be helping to setup and tear down:)

Just in case you are interested and want to see the beautiful quilts:

July is here!

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Fourth of July Celebration! We had a nice quilt day filled with good food. The temps were below normal so no 105...just mid 90's with a gabillion degrees of humidity:( Oh well...SO glad we have AC!

Yesterday was Summer cleaning in the house...feels like we have been neglecting the house for too long!!! Today was the outside cleaning. We haven't power washed it for 2 years and it definitely showed. The siding is white again:) YEA!

Last week was pretty quiet..well except one Lawyer appt and of course construction guys:) The house is almost finished being painted inside. They are supposed to lay the new flooring on Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday the new appliances will arrive:) Also the AC will be serviced.I am hoping all will be done by the 15th. A different garage door company is to come by on Tuesday for estimate. I will be home all of 2 solid days so should get a bit of quilting done:)

Here is what I did get done this week:

Trisha made this jelly roll quilt. Love the modern feel to it...well duh:) LOL!!

Had fun quilting curls and 8's and a few straight lines.

What a fun backing!!! It is reversible!

Judy Mc made this Cross wall hanging as an auction item for her church.

Simple straight lines quilting.

Backing....

My hourglass blocks have gone from 288 to 144. Now to sew them together and get the 72 I need:) Slowly but surely:)

Have a great week!
