January is almost gone!

Hi All:)

Can't believe February is right around corner! Time is going SO fast!!!

I was hoping to show you a finished kitchen but.......my slab was not on the truck so it didn't arrive till Thursday. It will be installed Monday and the plumbers come Tuesday. Then the back splash won't get done the 5th unless they can get me in earlier but I am not planning on it.

It was good to get back in my routine this past week:) I am back to quilting for my customers. My Millie is all done but will not show pictures until after the quilt is hanging at our local quilt show but I do have to say it is just stunning:) Not to brag or anything:) LOL!

We went to Cedar Park and Austin yesterday. Hubby is also cleaning out so he sold a little over 1/2 of his album collection to Half Price Book and we took Bianca for a service... her stitches were not good and also her bobbin case was not working correctly. A good spa day will fix her right up:) She should be done in 4 weeks and by then we will have another load for Half Price books:) After we had a lovely meal at Catfish Parlour in Georgetown. Hubby likes the catfish but I enjoyed the grilled salmon:) YUMS!

Today we cleaned out MIL bedroom in her house next door. 5 large trash bags of mostly clothing and a few other items. She did like to buy clothes and jewelry. Did find a few pieces in her drawers... among her sweaters:) LOL! I know what you were thinking:) Need to see if family wants anything before we really go through it. Any furniture or household items will be donated to the local abuse center to help them start over.

Okay picture time:

Pam made this pillow runner to go with her quilt that was the last one I finished last year:)

She will lay it across her bed pillows instead of making shams. Actually a great idea!

I quilted it the same as her quilt:)

Mary G made this adorable wall hanging!

Love the different feet!

She will hang in April:)

Here is her February one:)

Such a simple design with such impact:)

I will get it to her in time to hang in Feb:)

Got to go to Bee Friday and made 2 more blocks from my online shop hop quilt. I am planning on making 2 chemo quilts with what I have:) They are SO not me!

Will be home most of the week except for an errand day... of course there will be lots of workers here also. I plan to lock up the kitties in 2 bedrooms and I will quilt while they work. Easier then me sitting and watching them all day! At least I will be accomplishing something!

Have an awesome week! And get sewing!!!

Another week goes quickly by!

Here we are in the middle of January already... well kinda passed the midpoint way already! Where does the time go??

I had lunch bunch and Guild and also some of us went to Waco for the annual Shop Hop. The other 2 1/2 days I quilted on Millie... almost finished now:) YEA!!!

Next week I am home but have the counter top guys, back splash guys and also the plumbers coming:) I am happy about that but still it takes days away:(

Well I did get a few things sewn today....I took Judith... my featherweight... into the house and sewed while watching football. I also cut 2 more blocks:) So I did do something besides hand sew all the circles on the Birds...not done there either. 96 is a bunch!!! I really think they are multiplying:)

Ok so a few pictures:

Bought this yardage at the Shop Hop... backing for the Spargo birds:)

Found these sweet dolls and doll houses to make for the girls for Christmas:) Had to order a house panel....there is a story there about a little old lady taking the last one and not letting me have it but I was nice... I did keep my eyes on her in case she changed her mind:)

Another BOM done.

This is from an online hop from 2009 I think... I know? I am sewing them and will make 2 chemo quilts from them. Not my style anymore.

There is the bottom border on Millie:) YEA!!!!!

I hope everyone has an awesome week!!!!

Happy New Year 2019

Hi Everyone:)

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year holiday:)

Ours was very busy. Daughter came to visit and was here a weekand left before christmas. Then Christmas with the granddaughters:) All fun!!!

New Years not so good:( MIL passed away on the 31st.  She was 91.5. She had been slowly fading and was unable to leave the assisted living center for over a month:( She lost her mobility and then I think she just gave up. We had her funeral the 11th. Daughter flew in the 10th and left yesterday as she has to go back to college today. Here is a link if you wish to see her obituary:

So I have been quilting Millie on and off this year but it is slow going so I am getting further and further behind but I am okay with that:) No one is in a hurry yet for their quilts:) LMK if you are:)

Here is what I did get done before the year ended:
A Project Linus Quilt I had made

Someone donated this hand appliqued quilt that they had started hand quilting to Project Linus.

I have had it probably 6 months and finally just quilted curlz all over.
Turned out really nice.

Another Project Linus made by me:)

Love Texas!!

All my leftover flannel for a chemo quilt.

Bright and cheerful backing!

These princesses were leftovers from the book pillows I made the girls from Christmas... and yes they loved them!

More curlz!

Pink cowgirls.

Just love the curlz!

Bear boys quilt.

Another bear quilt.

Bought this wool kit when we were in Ohio 2 years ago and it is done:)

I sewed all the birds together and the vine is all hand sewed down so now on to the 96 1 in circles:)

Here is hubby punching all those circle for me:)

And Handsome is holding the top down so I can pin all the circles.
Just great to have SO much help:)

Quilting Millie... I am now almost finished with the green medallion so it is coming along....

SO the other BIG news is that hubby is retiring in November......we are both pretty happy with that decision! His workplace is making lots of changes and he just doesn't want to change with it so he will hang in 209 more working days:) And that does not count the 10 days off for vacation:)LOL!

Also the counter top will be installed on the 24th and the back splash on the 25th. We haven't done anything else with all the  holiday activities... wait I did order a new trash can yesterday for the kitchen:) hehe!!!

Hope everyone has an amazing week!!
Mine is busy with 2 days for quilting.
