Such a busy week!!!

Why are some weeks so loaded and others are not?  I had quilting to do, house inspection, eye appt, Guild mtg, massage, errands, clinic appt, realtor and contractors to deal with, and bee.
Most of it was good but then contractors and Drs never are!!!

Just heard from my Nolting gal and she will be here Tuesday to setup the computer for the quilter:) YEA!!! So there will be no quilting this week since it will be a different setup and I need to get somewhat comfortable with it:) I am getting excited!!!

So here are pictures of what I did get done:)
First up is Mary W's Butterfly quilt. A friend/neighbor gave her all the butterflies and she made this beautiful quilt. Love how modern fabrics were used as the backgrounds with the 30's butterflies:)

They were all hand embroidered down. I did cross hatching on the butterfly blocks and some echoing on the hexies.

You can see all my work on the beautiful backing fabric:)

Fran made this sweet quilt. No 2 blocks were the same:)

She just wanted loose feathers and anything else I wanted to do but not heavily quilted.
So in other words that means play:)

And play I did!

Sweet bird backing fabric!

I sewed all the blocks for 2 Project Linus quilts at Bee and they are now sewn together and I just need to add the border:) There will be pictures next time:)

Have to donate to the vampire club Monday...blood drawn. And another massage and hope to get a vet appt made. I was waiting for Missy to schedule setup so now I have work to do:)

Down to the appraisal and survey on MIL house. We still have a few items to repair but are waiting for appraisal to see if they are also going to require them. I tell ya we were just about to say forget it and keep the house last week! What stress!!!!

Have an awesome week and I will post computer pictures next week:) YEA!!!

Time is flying by!!!

Hi All,

Thankfully school starts on Tuesday:) Will be nice to run errands in a quieter environment:) LOL!

Have good news....we are under contract with MIL house again:) Pretty sure it will go through this time...at least I am really hoping!!!

Was home most of the week so got 1 quilt done and started another. I also had to get a massage. My right shoulder, neck, arm and wrist were hurting SO much! She worked me over pretty good for 30 min and I am feeling SO much better! I go back next week for a 90 min session. Love not having to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 4 hours! It's all the ruler work I have been doing the last few weeks. Hurt like this after all the show quilts. Think it may be a weekly or biweekly thing:)

Busy week coming up so am hoping to get 1 quilt finished:)

Here are pictures:

This is Elaine's friendship quilt.

Most of the signatures are from 2017.

Fun playing with all the different blocks.

Once again reversible:) LOL!

This is on the frame now....

I am cutting lots of green fabrics from my scraps for Emerald City by Bonnie Hunter:)

Here is a picture of it:) It is out of her newest book String Frenzy.

Have a great week and sew sew sew!!!!

Bad news and also some awesome news:)

Okay first out with the bad....the buyer terminated her contract to buy MIL house:( She found something closer to where she wanted to be so we are back on the market...ugh! She only had 5 more hours  before we would collect some $. I could say I wish her well but I am more thinking I hope she doesn't get that house:) LOL!!!

The most awesome news???? I put a down payment on the computer system for my longarm:) YYYEEEEAAA!!!! Hubby and I went to Plano Quilt Show on Friday because I knew Nolting would be there. They answered all my questions and money was given:) Yesterday I ordered the tablet and got it today so now I just have to wait.....Missy will come down and install the new carriage and the software and get it all up and running:) I am thinking 3-4 weeks:) WHOOOO!!!

The show was also very nice:) Lots of quilts and vendors...I only bought a few fat quarters after Nolting.

I did get some quilting done this week and the life insurance policies are now linked to our Trust...that was the easiest!

Okay pictures:

Elaine pieced this quilt for a friend who can no longer sew:( There are signature blocks scattered throughout.

The wreath almost looks like a computer did it??? Nope all freehand:)

Lots of ruler and freehand throughout.

Plain backing so you can really see the quilting.

Here are my Plano Show purchases. Seemed odd that after spending big $ all I got was a yellow receipt. The fats are for a sailboat quilt I want to make.

My Jen Kingwell The Avenue quilt top is all done:) Will go into my computer quilting pile.

Home a lot this week so am hoping to get a few quilts finished:)
Have an awesome week and if you are in the hot zone...possible 104 this week but it will feel like 108...stay hydrated and cool!!!!

August has arrived!

We are in the hottest month in the state of Texas but have only had a few 100 degree days so far. And we had rain early this morning??? Thunder, lightening, and an inch of rain. We SO needed it!!! Of course when the sun came out the humidity shot up also:( But that is Texas weather for ya!

So was busy all week but not much to show for it. Spent most of Monday on the phone getting things set up with the trust. Tuesday more of the same plus headaches:( Wednesday was errands and Thursday and Friday I was in class. Thursday was also inspection day for MIL house. We have a few things to fix but not too much:) YEA!

The class I took was The Poppins Bag class taught by Jamie Parker from Lampasas. Pattern is by Aunties Two. Great class and lots of fun and frustration:) Can you really have both? YES!!!

So here is the finished bag:

She is bright and huge!!!! Will use her as an overnight bag when we travel:)

I am a glutton for punishment since I did buy the kit for the one a little smaller than this one.
And yes.....cat approved:) :)!!

KoKo jumped right in:)

My Jen Kingwell Trees quilt top is starting to come together. I had sewn all the trunks on last weekend.

I updated my LOVE ME wall:) LOL!!!

Have a great week and get to sewing...and me to quilting:) LOL!!!!
