VERY busy week!

Hi All,

Hope you had a wonderful week and stayed warm wherever you are! We were cold and damp most of the week...yesterday the sun was shining in all it's glory but the wind knocked us off our feet:(

So as the title states it was a VERY busy week! I only quilted on Monday... so here are those pictures:

Brenda made both of the quilts I quilted this week.

This is a very colorful one that I just looped all over.

The Halloween one I also just stippled all over.

This is for Margaret's Niece. Her sister started it... had all the blocks done and the fabrics bought and then passed away. It has sat in a box for 9 years and she decided I was the one to finish it for her:)
So I squared up the blocks and sewed on the sashings and the borders. I have the backing fabric ready to sew together and then it will go in line:)

This is the hankie I love the most! Victor passed away on the 10th... he was 102. His mom was my MIL BFF:) Such an awesome keepsake!

Here is one of the butterflies... she blanket stitched them on with precise little hand stitches. Felt like she starched the dickens out of them also:) Can't wait to quilt it... I see feathers!!!

So Tuesday night was Guild meeting night and I was the speaker:)

I showed my quilt journey from the first to what I was working on... I only took 27 quilts:) I had more at home:) LOL!!!

This is me posing because I wouldn't stand still or be by the quilts:) LOL!!! Thank you Kathy for taking pictures!

Then on Wednesday I taught a class.... can't get the pictures downloaded for some reason so you may see them next week:)

Here is a closeup of the minky PL I made last weekend... will sew one again this afternoon:)

Bee was Friday and I thought I might have some nice left in me so I went:) I got this month's BOM from Zen Chic made and....

Got 2 more of the BOM for a chemo made. Also laughed a lot:)

Hubby and I went to Austin yesterday to pick up Bianca from her spa/surgery. These are the 2 sensors they replaced... the hook sensor and the other is the buttonhole sensor. I am beginning to think she is a $ pit:(

So while she was all fresh I stitched out a couple of hand towels. I changed bobbin thread brand and she does seem a bit happier... but we will see....

Did another one this morning.

So much quieter this week... I am home all but one day and the tile guy texted and he will be here one day this week:) YEA!!!

Forgot to post these.... Bonnie Hunter was in San Antonio teaching and saw this awesome machine:) LOVE IT!!!!

I am taking a class from her in April:)

Tile still not finished:(

Hi All,

Well the tile people have not come back to finish yet:( Haven't heard anything since Tuesday so will wait to see if I get a reply from the email I sent Friday...I really do not like working with contractors! If only we knew how to do the tile it would already be done! Glad we are building the island ourselves! Well except for the quartz top and it will just be a rectangle for them to glue down:) Yea! And the electric but we have a guy for that:)

So I did get some quilting done this past week:

This is Jill's Brimfield quilt. The circles are EPP.

She used Grunge as the background... still one of my favorites!

You can really see the quilting on the backing! Ruler and free hand:)

Cam made this for her sorority Sister.

Added more splashes of water:)

And curlz all around.... backing was white.

I was given a lot of the Minky/Cuddle fabrics since I had done quite a few machine embroidery projects with it so I had a rather large stash and wanted to clear some/all of it out.
So I cut 8" squares of flannel... washed... and the minky and then sewed it all together to make a rag quilt. I have enough cut to make another:)

Just wish I would of seen all the yellow in the corner:( Oh well it still hugs! Hubby is snipping the edges as I type:)

The center medallion is finished on LaPassion... only 16000+ more pieces:)

Oh  and we built this today.... a coffee station:) Saw one in the kitchen cabinet catalog that I was looking through and figured we could build one ourselves:) Yup a success!I measured, cut and glued, and hubby cut all the circles:) We are such a great team!

Busy week this week so may just get a quilt started. I am the presenter at our Guild Tuesday night and will teach a class on Wednesday. Then we have Bee on Friday... busy busy bee:) LOL!

Oh the weather has been wild! We were up to 86 degrees one day and then down to 50's the next day as the high:( Please make up your mind!!!

Enjoy your week! and keep them sewing machines going!!!!

Strange weather!!

Well our weather has taken a turn! We were 79 degrees one day and down to 29 with sleet and snow the 2 days later. That's Texas weather:) It is supposed to warm up more everyday this week:) YEA!!! At least we did not have the mess or temperatures the folks up North did!

The tile guys came and went and came again. They showed up at 3 and laid the tile then came back 2 days later to do the grout at 3 again. Good thing I work from home! Bad part is they are not finished... we found 2 ungrouted spots and also the work order did not have them take down the over the stove microwave and tile and grout and then reinstall. So I have a work request in. The salesman stated they would do it so now we wait...... again.

Here are the pictures so far:
Tiled

Supposedly finished... not!

This is where the work still remains....they were suppose to take the old backsplash down but just tiled over it sooooo now we have this. The guy said he could go up to where the cabinet starts...sounds okay to us:) So the saga continues...

Now onto quilting:)

This is Dot's queen sized quilt I had started last week.

It is a Missouri Star pattern and I custom quilted it:)

Look it's reversible!!!

She had extra blocks so made a table runner for her daughter in law:) I quilted it the same way:)

I was to go to Bee Friday but woke up the second time this week with a sinus headache:( Hate them! But started feeling better around noon so loaded and quilted this wall hanging for Brenda.

It is a panel that she just added a few borders to.

I quilted around the bike and made some of the details pop and also the writing. Stippled all around in the gray to fill in.

Bead board in the green border and no quilting in the wording border. Love the wording fabric... will have to see if I can find me a fat or 1/2 yard:)

Well I hope everyone has a great week! I have a Brimfield custom to start tomorrow and lunch bunch on Tuesday. Then another week will fly by!
Happy Sewing!

Happy February!!!

Hi All !

This month started off so well!!! Hubby and I traveled to Cedar Park for a fantastic concert last night! Toby Mac, Jeremy Camp, Jordan Feliz, Aaron Cole, Ryan Stevenson, and We are Messengers. An invigorating Christian line up!!!

Really needed the uplifting after the week of workers... yes a week:(  Felt even longer! The counter top guys got here late afternoon on Monday. The counter looks awesome but of course it all didn't exactly fit:( Normal for my 1960's  home:( They had to grind the quartz opening for the stove top larger... glad he tried it before they left. BUT it left a light... well pretty heavy layer of quartz dust EVERYWHERE:( UGH!!! Had to vacuum and mop twice... dust all the furniture and cabinets:( I think we have it all now after we did it again yesterday.

Then the plumbers came the next day..... the faucet was installed but the drain pipe was VERY loose:( He had to plan how to repair it. He did have an adapter for the stove top... why isn't everything universal??? He also fixed MIL toilet in her house.... needed a new seal. So on thursday.... he brought help... I was his helper the first day:) LOL! They cut a hole in the cabinet under the sink and also in the wall behind the fridge to find the stack...not sure what it is but they found it. It was VERY helpful to him that we took pictures of both bathroom renovations.. appears it was not installed correctly when the house was built and over time started to break apart... no leaks though:) Surprised at that!
So finally got the faucet working and there is all new plumbing stuff under the sink:)

Here are the kitchen pictures:) Back splash people come Tuesday... hope it is a smooth install!!!

New deeper sink....

Love the corner design... no seams there!

New stove top:)

All setup...

Motion activated faucet.

There was a little quilting going on while I waited and when they worked:)

Another small wall hanging by Mary:)

Stars to be used for Fourth of July.

Back....

Leaves for the fall.

Simple quilting.

Back:)

I have a queen loaded and a little over 1/2 way done... it should be done for the next blog update.
Hope everyone has an awesome week!!!
