May is almost gone.....

Yet another busy week here but I did get a bit of quilting in. I am working on a king size so no pictures just yet.

Monday I was to have my teeth cleaned but it was rescheduled for Tuesday so I got to quilt all day:)

Tuesday cleaning and then quilting:)

Wednesday we had our probate court appointment. It was at 1:15 but the judges had a meeting that lasted an hour and a half and then we were finally in the courtroom. Only took a few minutes and we were done and then our lawyer had another client and she went rather quickly also. Then to get all the paperwork done and we were finally heading home. So nothing else happened.

Thursday was for errands and visiting a friend that had surgery. It was also our 38th wedding anniversary:)

Friday we were suppose to go to Kerrville but the youngest granddaughter was graduating preschool so we attended that instead. Then out to lunch for our anniversary and then to Lowe's:) So exciting:)

Saturday we went to Kerrville and attended the quilt show but not till we had a lovely lunch at Billy Gene's. Great homemade food right on the banks of the river. The show was great! 289 quilts and quite a few vendors:) Then to Creations Quilt Shop for a few goodies:) Then back home...but stopping at Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls for dinner and we took pie home:) That will be for later today:)

Today we finally got the storage shed for hubbies lawn equipment built. We ordered it from Wayfair and have been storing it for over 6 weeks...we couldn't put it together because of all the rain...we finally had a dry weekend:)

I have a lady cleaning MIL house this week and then we will contact a realtor. Does anybody have any suggestions?

So a few pictures:

My treasures from the show:) The wood thing is for the Featherweight foot pedal to sit on so it is easier to use...hope so:) Judith is wearing a cover that will be great for when she is in her case:)

Have an awesome week!

Busy Busy week!

Hi All:)

As the title states it was a busy week!
Monday the electrician came and spent from 8am till 7pm doing electrical work...hooking up the island, moving the fan from center of kitchen/dining room to over the table, and getting my mixer hooked up. He was in the attic and in the crawl space...poor guy! And he did it all with the electricity on:) Yea for me! I got to quilt all day:)
Tuesday Hubby had a hearing aid appt where he got to pick out what he wanted and we got it ordered...did you know that your eyes, ears, and teeth are considered luxuries? That is why they are not covered on health insurance... you have to get that extra:(
We also had an appt with the lawyer to go over what will happen this week when we probate the wills in front of a judge.
Wednesday was a quilting day:)
Thursday was errands and load a king size quilt.
Friday was a sick day... it looks like it is snowing here with all the cottonwood:( And I was in it on Thursday:(
Saturday we had lots of storms coming in... we didn't get much.... so we planned to do the trim work on the island:) I hate mitering!!!!! I did great the first 3 cuts and then it was no fun after that! But it is on and Hubby did some touch up painting a bit ago:)
Today...a surprise! We met Angela from Prosper in Hillsboro at Braums so I could buy her white featherweight:) SQUEEEE! She is a sweet machine! Born in 1964 and almost mint condition! Pictures are below:)

So next week is busy again! I do plan to start quilting the king size but know I won't get halfway:(  I will do what I can!  Okay on with pictures:

Roseanne made this beautiful One Block Wonder quilt. I have had it since Nov of last year:(

Love the space between the hexies! I stippled most of them but 2 I made into stars. You can see the triangles I quilted around this block. Makes it more interesting I think:)

Corners.... I love the beadboard.

Hot Pink WOW backing! You can see part of the star in this one also.

Kathy J made this BOM for her brother.

She wanted it lightly custom....umm.. really don't know how to do that:) LOL!

Turned out really nice and I hope her brother loves it!

And here is Whitney:)

She was named after Whitney Dam which we crossed over to get her:) Doesn't she look so elegant on the counter top?

She is in near mint condition with only a few scratches. LOVE her!!!!
Happy early Bday to me!!!!

Here is the island all done...well except for the trim. we love the 2 lights over head and they give out SO much light! Def not good first thing in the morning:) You can see Calli in the background..

We have eaten almost every meal there since.

The fan got moved over the table:) YEA!
What you don't see is the old hole where the fan was:) Yes we will get to it soon:)

My mixer is all installed and ready to use.

Love the way it is all setup! She is always plugged in and ready to use....just lift her up and the shelf locks in place and to lower I unlock and she glides back down:)

Hubby thought the old mixer did not go well with the new kitchen so he ordered me a new one in stainless:) Happy early Anniversary!

So that's it from here for right now.....more to come next time!
Happy Sewing!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Hope all of you had a lovely day! We went to the cemetery to visit MIL and then just enjoyed a quiet day:)

This week has been busy!!! Monday and Tuesday I had to take sick days:( UGH!!! Pollen changed so had to change the allergy meds up a bit. Darn Cottonwood!!! Wednesday I quilted:) YEA!!!! Thursday the counter top was installed:) They were to come between 9 and 11... yup almost 11:) Only took them like 15 min and they were gone... then I headed out the door to run all my errands. Friday was Bee:)

Yesterday I really celebrated Mother's Day:) Hubby and I went to The Texas Quilt Museum in LaGrange to see Danny Amazonas display...all I can say is WOW!!!! His work is amazing!!! And they let us take pictures so Hubby took several...like almost 50:) LOL!!!

On the way down we stopped for BBQ at Southside BBQ in Elgin, then the Ace Hardware in Giddings... a great treasure to shop in plus they have the line of Shit seasonings we really like and we were almost out of Bullshit and Good Shit:) LOL!!! Then to Museum and then to Quilt Barn between Giddings and LaGrange. Sweet little shop! Then Buckeys in Giddings to fill up with gas and cherry sours:) Our favorite! Then a long ride home:) As we got closer to home we knew we weren't hungry but needs something so dipped cones from DQ was our dinner:) Great day even with sporadic rain showers.

I got the one quilt finished last week but not posted but it was shipped and arrived safely:) I loaded a one block wonder and have been working on it:) Was hoping to get a lot done this week on the quilting side but may not get as much done as I want:( I will tell you all about it next week!

Ok so on with the pictures!!!
Trisha made this I think as a graduation gift for her grandson.

I just followed the lines...very masculine!

All ruler work on this one. I used a gray brown variegated King Tut thread called Riverbank.

Love the backing!

Of course my favorite quilt was the Kitty:)

Beautiful dragonfly.

Love the puppies!!!

These were both 5 feet wide...just amazing!!!
They were all for sale also:)

My treasures from the trip yesterday:)

My to myself Mother's Day gift that I found at Ace in Giddings:)

Back to quilting:)

Hellooooo:)

Well I am back to quilting:) was nice having the break but the quilts were calling me!
When I left I had this one still on the frame so finished it up on Monday:)

Margaret's sister made this about 9 years ago... well the blocks. Then she passed away:(  I sewed it all together and finished it up for her:)

This is my favorite hankie... it is the one her mother carried when she got married:)

The butterflies are beautiful! She hand blanket stitched every one of them on.

This one was painted by their grandmother:)

Just loved the variety of hankies.

And of course one butterfly with a mind of it's own:) LOL!

The backing... this quilt will go to Margaret's niece.

Fran made Tula Kitties:) My 2 most favorite things!

Lots of curlz!

They are SO cute!!!1

Here is the backing.

I got another finished but no pictures taken yet so you will have to wait till next week:)

We have been working on the island this weekend... the beadboard is on and it has 2 coats of paint on it:) YEA!!! The quartz is due to be installed on Thursday:)

We have had a bunch of rain this week... 5 inches + Was SO nice to have a rainless weekend!

A busy week but there will be a bit of quilting done:)

Hope everyone read that I am not taking any more quilts in this year..... have to catch up!!!I am loading and starting to quilt one I got in Nov of last year tomorrow... I think I still have a few more from last year but then will be back on this year's schedule:) They are not in a hurry but man 6 months is a long time!

Have a great week!

Hi Ya'll,

As of today I am no longer taking in quilts this year. I have 30 to quilt and the only way to catch up is to stop taking them in. I will get everyone on the list done this year:) I already have a list started for next year if you want your name on it:)
