End of June:(

This month just flew by!!! We had more rain...almost 4 inches last Monday and the temperature has not hit 100 yet and July is like tomorrow:) Of course the humidity has been awful and there have been heat indexes in the 100+. So with one good thing there is always another thing :(

I had planned to get more quilting done but the lawyer changed our appt from Thursday...my normal off day for errands.... till Tuesday so I did more errands then. I had to buy a new range ...it was less expensive to buy it then a stove top and oven...and fridge for MIL house. They should be delivered on the 10th or 11th. They're making great progress on the house:) The carpet was laid yesterday in the bedrooms and one bathroom has been painted. Since I went with the range there was cabinet cutting and removing to be done...sure opened up the space! Can't wait to see it done! We trimmed all the trees the required 2 feet away from the roof yesterday and did the yard:)

So that meant I got to quilt 2 days since Friday was Bee:)

I did get one quilt done and that was all...have the next one loaded and ready to start tomorrow.

Here are the pics....
Jill made this modern wall hanging:)

I really got to play and try new things I have been waiting for the right quilt to try.
The blocks on the left she handed.

The squares on top and the circles on the sides are 2 new things:)

The straight lines on the bottom also:) 2 more hand dyed pieces.

Another hand dyed piece. The only thing Jill asked for was for her circles to not be quilted and to quilt long uneven straight lines in the big white area. She will be hand quilting with colored embroidery thread down a few of them. Will be amazing!

Love the backing!

So that was all I got quilted. I did get 89 more hourglass blocks done on Sunday and at Bee....there is an end... only 136 more to go:)  This will also be a short week because of the 4th and Hubby maybe taking Friday off also:)  Oh and another lawyer appt. Will see what mischief we can get into:) LOL!!!

Have a great week!!!!

Happy Birthday to me:)

Yup it's my birthday today:) My daughter called and asked if I was 25 or 26? LOL!!!! Wouldn't want to do those years over again especially not in this time period!

Busy week... seems as if they all are lately.Had a guild  meeting. I did get some quilting done and also sewing:) What? Sewing? YEA!!! All I wanted for my birthday was to sew on Whitney:) After some to dos around the house yesterday I sewed and then again today:) That made me a VERY happy girl:)

So called the realtor on Monday and the workman showed up on Tuesday with their trailer. Wed they began demo. What a mess!!!! Glad there isn't anybody living in the house right now! The rest of the week has been sheetrock replacing and mudding. Not fun!!! Took 2 days for the gas company to turn the gas off...ugh! Now the countertop and sink can be removed. The garage door guy finally came and haven;'t heard anything back from them yet. Hoping they have some older used doors we can get installed as they will get painted anyway.  Why is everything so hard??

Bob went in for his yearly checkup and was back to work the next day:)

He is my under the quilt inspector:) LOL!!!!

Brenda made this sweet Sunbonnet quilt. Can you believe this is the first time ever to do cross hatching? Will be doing it more:)

Here is Sam:) With feathers all around the block.

And Sue:)

Backing shows off all the quilting!

The white and light grey flowers have been added:)

Brenda also made this Christmas quilt.

Loops in the fabric borders and snowflakes around the machine embroidery.

Love the backing fabric!

Yesterday I got my fox all stitched down. I used invisible thread...clear...on all the pieces with 60 weight bobbin thread in the bobbin and then did a zig zag all around him in red. Was really surprised I didn't have more trouble with the clear thread but Bianca did well:) I used her because she has the larger throat area and table.

Here are more Pfeffernusse pieces. All the gray are done and I have 234 more hourglass blocks to make...will get to more after I am done here.

2 more BOM done. Now I am only 1 block behind and it's a paper pieced one.

Have a gr.....eat week!!!!!

Middle of June already!

Hi All,

Hard to believe June is passing by so quickly!

Forgot to post that on the first was my 8 year anniversary of my business:) WOW!!!! Hope to go a few more:)LOL!

Busy week with lunch bunch, lawyer meeting, realtor meetings, and Clifton quilt Show. Oh and I did quilt:)

The meeting with the lawyer is to set up a trust instead of doing wills... makes the passing on of stuff SO much easier! NO probate for the kids to have to deal with:) Have 3 more appointments before everything is final.

Realtors...oh what fun this adventure has been! We have never bought or sold a house. My in laws gave us our house so this is all new for us! The first realtor was very nice and gave us what we asked for. The second has gone way beyond and did a cost estimate with repairmen on fixing the house and giving us options of fixing or not. Selling empty lot next to it with house or not. Lots of decisions!!! And we learned SO much!!! So we are going with second realtor and selling separately but giving the house buyer the option to purchase first. We did not know that even if the area is designated single family homes a construction company can buy lot and get the permits to build apartments:( So we will do that after the buyer has chosen not to buy lot...then it will be on them that there are apts in our neighborhood and they will be next to them. I don't know if you know but MIL house is right next door to us so we are concerned with who buys it...don't really want to sell and move. we will see where this adventure leads us.....

Okay enough blabbing...on with the pictures!

Ruth Ellen made this quilt specifically for our Show next month.

She made stars but I saw arrows...so everywhere there is a large triangle in the star there will be lines coming out like arrows...remember if you click on the picture it will get bigger so you can see what I am saying.

Lots of filler with a few stars thrown in.

Her backing needed to be longer so she added her leftovers:) I always love that!

My treasures from the quilt show:) The small charm is hand marbled...interesting! I see some hexies:)

Kathy J went to Sewing Basket in Salado and pick these up for me:) Thank you!

Quilt show ribbons:)

There were 70 quilts  and some really nice ones!!! Millie may be going there next year:)

Hope everyone has an awesome week! I am done with show quilts so should be getting more done now:)

Still June:)

Well I think that Summer has arrived no matter what the calendar says! Upper 90's today with a heat index of 110...yup it's here:(

I finished the king size and also got a little one done this week:) I have another loaded and am about 1/2 way with it:) Love when I can get things done!

I even got a bit of sewing done yesterday before heading to Grand Daughters Recital. She had performances in both so we went to both! Only got to spend a little time with her but a lot with the youngest:) Fun day!

Today we finished clearing out the shed and garage of MIL house. The lady finished cleaning it and we have 2 appts next week with Realtors. Have never sold a house so it will definitely be an adventure!

Okay onto the quilts.....
Peggy's king size quilt. It was a BOM from PHD Quilts in Waco.

Had a lot of fun quilting different things!

Love the border idea!

Backing was a Batik.

The center was my favorite!

Look at all that quilting! Only 29 bobbins worth:)

Close up of center medallion.

One of the stars...I like the way the flying geese look.

Janice made this beautiful red work wall hanging.

She did such a great job you would think it was machine done but the back told me it was hand done!

Here is the back....I did a lot of quilting on the little thing:)

I got time to work on my Pfeffernusse blocks on Whitney before the recital yesterday:)

And I have 10 of the 61 little flowers attached....only 51 more flowers and lots and lots of fillers!

Suppose to have some storms tonight:( Usual Texas Spring....um Summer weather:)
Have an awesome week!!!!

Happy June:)

Hi All,

Hope June has arrived with great weather! Our has been unusually rainy but I will not complain!

Was home a lot this week but still need 1 more day to finish the king size quilt...I think it has grown to oversized king:) LOL!!!

Hubby and headed to Clifton on Friday to take my quilts for the Clifton Show on June 14 and 15. While we were there we made a day out of it. It is only an hour drive through the country so was enjoyable:) We dropped off the quilts, then went to Bosque Museum. That is truly a must do when you are in Clifton! Then to Bunkhouse BBQ for lunch. Hubby said he would drive the hour for their ribs:) They were yummy! Then to the Clifton Classic Car Museum. Lovely place with about 30 cars and lots of antique memorabilia. Then to 2 antique shops and then back home. made for a lovely day!

Yesterday was yard work day... with all the rain it really needed to be done! And today we repaired the hole in the ceiling from where the ceiling fan in the kitchen originally was. Nice not to see a hole anymore:) LOL!

I did get some more of my Pfeffernusse string blocks made so am ready to start sewing the white and grey ones together and then all the lovely half square triangles.....

La Passion is starting to get her 61 small flowers attached. Slow going but steady:)

Home again 3 days this week so am hoping to get the quilt done and a small one:)

Sorry no pictures today but there will be lots next week!

Have an awesome week!
