June almost over:)

Hi All,

I keep seeing a cartoon on FB that shows people carefully opening the door to July 2020:) LOL! We have no idea what's in store for us day to day! Just do what you want and enjoy everyday!

I did gather with 2 friends and we had a lovely lunch and did some hand sewing on Friday:) SO nice to talk to friends and get hugs!!!

So now we have the wonderful Sahara Dust here:( Yes I felt it 3 days before they officially said it was here:( Headaches, sinus issues, and burning eyes:( UGH! They... meaning the weather people that are always right?... state it is almost over but will be back midweek...so in other words I will be feeling the dust all week long:( It makes me want to do nothing! So I may just do that this week. Will take each day and see what I can do.

I did get a few things done this week. But first:

My daughter is officially graduated:)

She said she kept having this dream where she wouldn't get her diploma because she needed one more class:) LOL!

And she is in the book also:)

Okay onto quilting:

Judy Mc wanted this panel quilted for her first great grandchild.

Lots of outlining and ruler work.

You can see some of it on the backing fabric.

She also made this for Project Linus.

Hand cross stitched:)

This is the special order memory baby quilt.
The clothes are from the great grandmother. C McCain is the daddy.

She loved the Dallas Cowboys so to make it more boyish since that is who this is for I used the Cowboy fabric on the back. Still have the lap quilt to quilt... all loaded so will see if it gets done this week! Than 4 pillows that I have not started yet... always something to do:)

Son had a Covid case at his job and the Gov is going mandatory masks starting Monday so he wanted a few more for the girls to have on hand.
It is back to crazy times!!!!
Looks like this is going to last way longer then they thought.
Enjoy your week and keep out of the dust!!!!

Signs of Summer

Hi All,

It has felt like summer had arrived but then we got rain and it's back to Spring. We have rain chances most of the week and that should keep the temps lower:) YEA!!!

Rough week this week:( My daughter had to have surgery and she has been on blood thinners for about 5+ years so I had huge concerns of a clot forming when she was off them for the surgery. The surgery was Friday and she is good just sore:) YEA! Am So thankful!

I got a few things quilted this week:) Had to put a few calls/texts/emails out for more work:) I am happy I have a list:) It is the shortest it has been in a few years but I am okay with it as I am planning on slowing down after Christmas and then hopefully closing in June...will have to see about that still:)

First is a quick wool project I made:)

Love the backing fabric I had in my stash!

Margaret's friend made this and wanted it quilted for another friend.

So feathers galore:)

I also did the bead board on the border... I think it's one of my favorites to do!

Mary W made her second butterfly quilt.

I quilted it a bit different then the last one.
More bead board on the diagonal and straight lines in the border.
And the butterflies have matching antennas.

You can see the quilting on the backing.

My birdbath got a fountain:) LOL! Not sure the birds like it though:(

Tuesday we went to Pat's house in the 56 so our friends Linda and Terri could take a ride. They were both visiting. Then we ate cake... yummy!.. and played Quiddler. SO much fun!!!

I got my massage on Thursday....wow is all I can say! Love her!!!
When I got home there was an early surprise bday party for me:) LOL! Son, DIL,
and the grand daughters:) What fun!!!

So my Bday is Tuesday and I was thinking of going to Waco but they are back to mandating masks and I am SO over that so we will prob just stay home and eat cake:) I made a delicious Skinny Cherry DP chocolate cake...WOW! is all I can say. SO SO good!!! In fact am gonna head in and have a piece to celebrate Fathers Day:) Any excuse to eat cake!

Should be a quiet week with just quilting and cake planned so far:) LOL!
Hope you have an awesome week!!!
Sending everyone a great big hug!

Spring like weather:)

Hi All!

Another week flew by:)

First we got VERY exciting news last week... sorry a week late:(....
Grand baby #3 will be here Jan 9th or earlier if my DIL has anything to say about it:) LOL! She wants the tax deduction... don't we all!

So after that excitement you still have the rest of the blog to read:)

I got together with our lunch bunch on Tuesday sans the lunch part but did enjoy visiting and having some coconut cake:) Friday I got together with 2 quilting friends at one of their houses. We went out to eat at a BBQ place but all had burgers:) LOL! Then back to do hand sewing and much needed talking. Was really nice! Plan to do it again in a few weeks at another house. My turn will be after that:) And the best part of both was the hugs and no masks!

So we did get some quilting done and they have been picked up:)

Dot made this wonderful Christmas tree.
I sure wished it was cooler when we quilted it:)

We did E2E using a design called Victory with King Tut gold thread.

Love the quilting on the back... reversible!

A Pl to practice the next design on.

LOVE the backing fabric!!!

Finished my Fall wool project. The Spring is ready to start now.

Dot's Tulip quilt.

We used E2E design called Bug-a-boo and King Tut thread called Joseph's coat.

It is a wedding gift for way further down the road:)

Dot's last quilt is called Crayon Box.

We used E2E design called Curly.

And once again Joseph's Coat as the thread.
They all turned out so nice!

Bought this pattern and tray a few weeks ago and got it stitched up really
fast after I finished Fall. It was my handwork when I sewed with quilting friends.

So my kids got me an Amazon GC for Mother's Day. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted and then most of it was gone by the time I actually decided:( So....

I ordered the Martelli rotating cutting mat and ironing pad.
Son said he was SO glad he bought me a large pancake after I sent him a picture:) He is SO funny!!!

So far I love it. I have only used the cutting mat and prob will only use that part as I use my wool mat for pressing. It rotates SO smoothly! The best price is on Amazon!

So I have been wanting a concrete birdbath. The one I have been using was a gift from my son many many years ago but had been knocked over SO many times by critters it was very lopsided. So I found Dave on FB marketplace. He lives in Kempner and is a veteran. His Dr told him to find a hobby:) LOL! He soon discovered that after giving away his first items none of his family and friends wanted anymore so he figured he would start selling them. Well he does a great job and was joy to visit with.

So Hubby found this sweet cat... yup came home with us:) Those are the Texas plants I planted last week and they are still alive:) LOL!

Well then Hubby found him. Of course he had to have him:) LOL! So now I see him every time I look out my kitchen window:) There was also a Steelers one my son would of loved but we had run out of cash...thankfully! He was pretty low on a lot of items but I will be keeping my eye out for more items:)

So finally have a massage scheduled for this week and am looking forward to it and more quilting... back to custom:) Was nice to have the break!

Have an awesome week and stay well!

Happy June and welcome Summer!

I hope this finds ya'll enjoying the day!
This week went by rather quickly... wait.. they all do:) LOL!

We were able to park our cars back in the driveway and also got the sides all cleaned and filled with dirt. Am hoping the grass takes back over:) I keep watering it every morning. I am on the search for a concrete/cement bird bath. If you know of one for sale or needs a home please lmk! We have been to a few pottery stores and nurseries but nothing I like yet. Also bought a few outdoor plants... no hummingbirds so bought a butterfly bush and some Texas bluebells. They are still alive so that's a good thing:)

Got some quilting done also:)
First up is Gloria's flannel quilt. Love the feel of flannel!

We used the E2E design Labyrinth with grey thread.

Love how it turned out!

Another from Gloria. Think it is a table topper:)

Just stippled with a light grey thread.

Too cute!

Got a PL all done.

Yup the top was from the Burnet box:)

Was good to practice the Labyrinth pattern before actually using it!

Another PL. Not from box:)

E2E with the Victory design and variegated thread. Practice for the next quilt.
We have discovered that if we do a PL before a client quilt we can get the settings all good before hand. Sure helps with the nerves! Dazi's mood changes with the humidity, the thread choice, the backing fabric... SO much fun!

Have been working behind the scenes on my client commissioned memory quilt. The top is done and now am working on the baby quilt. Did you know that there is NO Dallas Cowboys fabric out there for sale unless it's SO overpriced? What is going on?? I don't need the quilt done till Oct so am hoping it will be back in stock by then?

have an awesome week! I get to see friends on Tuesday:) And there will be dessert:) An amazing day for sure!
