Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

This will be my last post for the year..too much baking and such to do so no more quilting until January:) And if we do I will post next time:)

Had lunch bunch, went to the Temple RR museum to see 17 modern very artsy quilts with a dear friend and had lunch at BJ's, went to Bethlehem in Burnet Texas...if you live anywhere close you really need to go!!! So it was a go go week:) LOL! Always fun to get out this time of year!

We did get a few quilts done:
A PL. Used a square motif with a variegated thread.

Backing.

PL again:) Didn't change a thing on the computer:)

Backing.

I made this PL with a charm pack and then found the car fabric at Joann's. Perfect!

Swirly wheels quilting:)

I am putting blocks together:) This is Bonnie Hunter's Emerald City pattern

Have my 2 ongoing projects on the design wall:)

LaPassion center medallion is done and I am setting it aside for a month or so:) There are 2092
7/8 inch hexies in just this section...only 15000 plus to go:)

I made this quilt a few years ago. Moda had it as a free pattern and yes all hand embroidered blocks.

Not real happy how the quilting turned out...user error in that I should of added more hexagons so they would of been smaller and filled up the top more. Like I keep saying...still learning!

Will probably donate to Guild for chemo patients.

Hard to believe another year is almost gone! SO many changes this year!!! Mostly good ones!
Sold MIL house, reunited somewhat with my parents, and the big one... Hubby retired:)
He has been retired for a month now and all is still well:) LOL! He will get his first SS check next week... the excitement is overwhelming:)

Christmas is quieter this year with us being on a limited budget now:)
Great excuse to not overspend or overdo!
Feels funny not baking as much as we usually did... I would send plates of goodies with Hubby to work for his employees. Would make 6 or more things and this year just 3:) We have discovered we really didn't like some of the things but it was a good giveaway.

I am hoping each and everyone of you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Celebration!
Thank you for reading my little blog:)

Almost Christmas, Almost Christmas... singing in my head:)

LOL! I am actually glad to hear Christmas music this year:) Usually I am all humbug with quilting that has to be done because they are gifts... but this time just having fun quilting PL's:)

Hubby is getting better and better at running most of the computerized except the main setting up. I have been letting him pick what he wants to quilt...in fact he has been shopping for designs he likes:) If we had room I would get him his own setup...but there is no room at this inn for more machines:(

The weather has been lovely but that is to change drastically on Tuesday:( Mother Nature's gentle reminder that she is still in charge!

Not too much exciting happened this week ...we mostly stayed home and quilted and I sewed! Had our Bee party Friday and that was a lot of fun! Love these gals to pieces!!!

So on with the pictures:

Panel from Pat for PL.

We used a honeycomb with bee design on it.

Another panel.

We used a design that looked like vines.

Yet another panel.

Butterflies this time.

I made this puppy quilt for PL.

Used paw prints:)

Hope everyone has a great week and sew sew sew!!!

December has arrived!

Hard to believe the year is almost over already!

Yesterday we had 75 degrees and today low 50's:( Surprise!!! We got all the Christmas out inside and out since it was a nice day:) Just need to pu our little live tree next week and get it decorated. I have all my shopping done and all I need is to make some January kitchen towels...mostly machine embroidery.

Busy week here... Mon we headed to Waco after my dental cleaning. Hubby had a Cabela's gift card burning a hole in his pocket:) LOL! While he was there I went to Joann's and World Market...was really good...only bought what was on the list! Had a lovely lunch at Don Carlos.
Tues we spent at home...I got the quilt finished that was on the frame:)
Wed we were on the road again...had to get Kitty nummies and also went to Temple to Michaels. I needed 5" wooden hoops for a project and website said they had some in stock. And of course we had to eat after:) Jodi's burgers and onion strings... the best! Then stopped at Academy and then home. Thurs was Thanksgiving and we watched football, ate pizza and I sewed:)
Fri had to get groceries and sewed more:) Yesterday decorated and cleaned house:)
Today back to crafting...and sewing.

Okay so on with a few pictures:
This was made by Ruth Ellen. She will be using it as a shower curtain.

Love the borders!

Used ruler and free motion stippling.

She used muslin for the backing and there is no batting inside. Can't wait to see it hanging in her bathroom!

So I have been working on Bonnie Hunter's Emerald City and made 144 of these....only 1 mistake:) Have 22 more to sew of the 4 piece strips and then more half square triangles to make. It is coming along! I want to do her mystery quilt but won't start until I am finished with this one! I can only handle one of her projects at a time!

This is what you saw Bianca stitching out last week.  Also what I needed the hoops for:) It's a shadowbox with the 2 layers on separate hoops and then glued together. Really like it! There is velvet black ribbon on the outside.

Also made this shadowbox. It has 4 layers and I had to make each individual frame and then glue them all together and put in frame.

Here it is in the window.

So better get some more sewing done!
I am finished quilting for the public till next year. I do however have 10 Project Linus quilts to get quilted. Will start tomorrow! Then mine!!!
Have a great week!
