Back to work:)

Hi All,

I am back to work this past week:) Felt kinda good!

I forgot a few things on the last post since it was SO picture heavy already I saved a few things for this week:)

I bought another featherweight:) I know... I already have 2 why another one? Well my daughter is graduating from The Ohio State this May and I promised her a sewing machine. I thought she wanted a Bernina and did the last time we spoke but... when I told her I had a chance to get a Featherweight for a great price would she be interested and I got a YES! from her:) So that was why. She is from 1946 and is in great shape except... when we were really checking her out yesterday we found her bobbin assembly just spun around. We tried to take it off but it is hitting something so it will have to go in the shop. She also needs to be greased well.

Since I bought the one machine the lady gave me another for free:) It is a Singer NLK 15. They were produced in the 70's as part of a nostalgia series. She was made in Taiwan... hence the VERY bright gold decals. She is a Sphinx replica. I haven't sewed on her yet as I am just now printing off a manual from the original 15s. She threads on the front of the faceplate so that will be something new to learn. Otherwise we have installed her officially in her case. Thinking about taking both machines to Ohio and letting Kayla pick which one she wants:) She might want both:)

Another thing that happened about a week before Christmas... the cats got a kitten for Christmas:) LOL! Maxx just showed up and we fell in love. Soon after I brought him in the house. The others hissed and fussed but now they all get along quite well! Took him to the vet this week and they think he's 5 months old and he weighed almost 6 lbs. He did have ear mites:( Now I have to treat all the others. But he is a loving sweet rambunctious guy!

Okay on with the quilts!
Margaret made this sweet quilt.

Love the bunnies! We edge to edge quilted it with white thread.

Matching backing:)

Roseanne made this Oriental quilt. I had made one years ago.

Another E2E design with a brown variegated thread.

Love it!!
I have been commissioned to make 2 quilts. One Army and one Marine. Here is the Army top all done:) The Marine is same pattern and is almost done.

And this is what's on the frame. I got the first border all custom quilted and will work on it more this week. It is only 103x103. So it may take this week and next.

Guess that's it for this week:)
Hope you sew a lot!
Remember sewing is cheaper than therapy but not as cheap as wine:) LOL!!!
