Dec 14, 2014

Hope you are almost done!!! I am:)

Got my last customer quilt pu and did a few Project Linus quilts and then took Dazi's handles off so I can send back to Nolting so they can fix her light:) yea!!!! I have had an Ikea light velcroed to the top of machine... worked but the cord kept getting caught on stuff and Bob:) Not funny when you are quilting!

MIL has great days and then other days..... feels as if she is a burden one minute and then ready to go somewhere the next. Dementia is really a strange disease! And she is only in the early stages. They looked at a local assisted living center and she said it was nice but she wasn't ready... may not be her choice:( Of course there is a long waiting list. They will look at the centers near my SIL this week as they are heading back tomorrow but will be back at Christmas since I am hosting:)

Was not a fun week for me but then I don't complain much but I had Cedar fever where I wished they would pull all of my teeth as they hurt SO much!!!! And then about over that and I pull something in my lower back... when it rains it pours! Still kept pushing and getting things done!

Hubby and I got all our baking and candy making done yesterday! yea!!! Hope we don't have to make more of anything!!!

Well on with the show:

First is Jill's Aboriginal Shadow Boxes.

She used Orange Grunge fabric for the borders:)

Did a Panto called Cool Beanz in orange thread.
Love Love it!!!!

Marylyn did a panel lap quilt for her son.

Love the stars as the border!

Just had fun quilting it anyway I wanted:)

Here is the back:)

Carolla snuck this one in real quick:)

Just love the simplicity of it yet I got to quilt it pretty heavy.

It is going to Germany with her next week as a gift to her Texas lovin nephew!

Back... love the woodgrain quilting:)

One of Judy's Project Linus quilts.

She finds the cutest fabrics!

Look at those fishies on the backing!

Another Project Linus.

I just loop meander most Project Linus quilts.

Sweet fabrics!!!

Another Houston project finished:) I am just addicted to her designs! SO glad my local shop carries them so I can pu more:)

Bob has discovered there is a window in the studio.

He likes looking out it.....

Was that a bird??? No just a leaf:) haha!!!

What's down there???? Yum Yums????

Well finishing... hopefully the sunflower soon! I have a bit more to finish before gifts can be shared:)

Only 11 more sleeps till Christmas:)

December 7, 2014

Hope all of you are well and getting all your projects finished up so you can enjoy the holidays!!!

I am almost finished with customer quilts and gifts:) yea!!!!!

Don't know where this week went but had lunch with the girls on Tues and then our Bee met on Friday. Sat hubby and I headed to LaGrange, Giddings, Elgin and then Round Rock. I think I am done traveling for the year:) haha!!!

I have had lots ask about my MIL. She is doing really well. Stayed with SIL for a week and took in a few days in LA gambling.  They went to cemetery today... a bit chilly so didn't stay long.

Okay enough about me and I won't even get into the cedar allergy problems I am having:( YUCK!!!!

On with the show:

First up is Ophelia's Texas quilt.

She used camping fabric in the border because that's what her son and his wife like to do:)

She let me play:) So I did...

Love the paisley quilting inside the Texas shape. Makes it pop!

Cool border Idea I came up with:)

This is Elaine's family raffle quilt. She makes one a year and all the names go in a hat and the winner is drawn. Last years winner can not participate.

Great use of striped fabic in the border!

Backing.

Finished this cross stitch santa and put him on the sleigh.

Here he is on Jill's orange Grunge fabric... I am quilting hers.

Everyone get to work and finish those projects!!!!!

Nov 30, 2014

Well the last day of November has arrived and there are only 25 more days until Christmas??? I need more than that!!!!! ha ha!!!

The funeral was nice and simple... he had military style at the Veteran's Cemetery. The bugle played and the guns were shot:) The weather was perfect! Thank you to all my friends and hubby's coworkers who attended:) We SO appreciated the love we felt!

Our Thanksgiving was pretty nice.. had most of the family at our house. MIL did well and said she ate a plate for FIL:) MIL went home with SIL on Friday and they are in LA at a casino today and tomorrow:) She does well as long as she isn't sitting and thinking for too long:)

I did get some quilting done this past week and have a few more to do before Christmas.

This is Kitty's quilt that her grand daughter helped her with.

The gdaughter got to push the start button as each thread was changed on the embroidery machine:)

She will be getting it for Christmas:)

Cam has gone Modern yet again! Love the colors!!!

Of course she lets me play:) I carried the chevron through the Toile fabric.

Love the quilting!!!!

This is Pat's pinwheel quilt. I had sewed the top from a  kit she had bought years ago.

Then I got to quilt it... she will do the binding.

Here is the back:)

It is suppose to get to 75 this afternoon but wait for it.... there will be a dramatic change in temps tomorrow:( BRRRR. So goes Texas weather for sure!!!!

Hope all had a safe and good Thanksgiving and get back to that sewing machine... you are getting short on time!!!!
