From winter coats to tshirts all in one week?

That is how the weather was this week....  temps ranged from 11 to 72 this week? SO crazy!!!! Will have to see what next week brings!

I did get some quilting done but can't show them all to you since they have not been picked up yet.... next week you will see them:)

Marlene made this tie quilt.

I used red thread and meandered all over... way too busy for anything else.

She sent minkee as the backing fabric.

Here is a man's chemo quilt I finished up this week.

Water ripples all over:)

Backing fabric came with the kit:)

My FIL shirt quilt is all done:( YEA!!!!

These were all in his closet and I paper pieced the blocks using a Bonnie Hunter pattern. I did an allover meander in a light grey.

Backing was a shirting I found on sale online:) Score!! Binding is a solid blue. Now need to make  a a label and then give to my nephew.

Another male chemo quilt all done:)

I did freemotion swirls in red thread all over.

A wild backing Pat picked... it does have all the colors in it:)

Millie #4 rosette almost has another row added to her:)

Block #13 for my Bee quilt.

Pretty quiet otherwise around here... I have a custom that I have been working on and it should get done this week:) Then another is right behind it... won't be able to show either one until they are delivered:) I don't like customers to see their quilt before they pu so they fall in love with them instead of the picture:) Plus it is a surprise:)

Stay healthy my friends!!!

I am back... well almost:)

Tomorrow I will be back to quilting for customers:) YEA!!!

I SO enjoyed my time off!!! Not a whole lot of quilting but a bit of sewing and resting:)

We had a wonderful Christmas and both granddaughters loved their quilts:) The ABC and State map ones. MIL also came and spent the day.

New Years was just the 2 of us and we were in bed before the fireworks:)

Since 2018 started I have been going and going it seems.... joined a new Bee called We Care... chemo, PL, and pillowcases are made. Then there was the Waco Shop Hop, Lunch Bunch, and then a trip to Dallas Area for a few days. And Jan is halfway over already???

I should be home for the next 2 weeks except for groceries and my reg Bee next Friday:) Which is good because there is another cold front.... oh we have had a few and some snow also:)...that is to bring more snow and really cold temps! I am just hoping all this cold weather kills some of the bugs!!!! The heater has been lovely! So glad we got it replaced!!

Here are a few pics of what I have been ding while I was away:

These are the first 10 Steampunk blocks I have made... have the next 5 cut but not sewn. The curves are SO much easier then I thought it would be!

Purrfect is now quilted, trimmed and waiting for a binding... have not found anything I like yet:(

I made this lace angle with Bianca's help for my friend Linda:) MIL saw it and wants one for her Bday:)

3 more Sue Spargo Birds done:)

Rosette #3 is finished:)

2 more Bee quilt blocks stitched.

An apple chemo quilt all quilted for Pat.

More apples on the back!

And another one. I have a chemo and a PL quilted and the binding just needs to be sewn on. I also finished FIL shirt quilt except for the binding:) Maybe next week I can show you:)

#4 rosette started:)

Old curtains in the studio

New curtains:) YEA!!! I had the old ones in the sewing room in the house right after my daughter left for boot camp.... that was over 15 years ago.... yes I needed new ones! I moved them to the studio when it was remodeled. Found the fabric at Stitched with Love shop in McKinney:) Perfect!!

Bianca and I made this snowman... machine embroidery.

Guess that's about it from here... am still working on handwork and will do binding when it get cold again... ummm tomorrow:)

Everyone stay safe and healthy!!!

Last Post of 2017:)

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I am officially closed until mid January:) SO nice to be sewing for me:)

This is Karen's custom quilt:) Love the way it turned out! It is on it's way to Maine where she lives:)

A closeup of the corner.

Feathers of course and love those lines in the triangles!

A bit of sunshine on the quilt.

And here is the backing. She had me machine sew on the binding and she will hand sew it down:)
Was SO glad she let me push it back to after the Christmas quilts. I really got to take my time and enjoy the quilting. Great way to end the year!

A man's Chemo quilt  that I got as a kit from the guild.

Millie is going strong:)

Another Chemo quilt from a  kit.

My Prism quilt top is finished:) YEA!!!

And here is the beautiful backing we found at Sew Much More yesterday when we pu Bianca. Yup got the girl back and she has been emb most of the day. They blamed it on a bobbin error but I don't think so... she also got an update while she was visiting.

My first 2 Steampunk blocks,,, the curves are WAY easier then I thought they would be!!!
It is a Jen Kingwell pattern and my block of the month.... I have 2 months worth to sew up to catch up.These 2 had the points perfect in the middle only to be covered up with the hand appliqued circle. I was kinda disappointed to not show off the points but my next 2 were off so I could cover them up:) haha!!!

I hope everyone has a great holiday!!!!
CYA next year!!!!

Busy Busy week!

Hi all,

This week just flew by but then I was really only home 1 day and that day I quilted... custom still not done but will be this week:)

Had Lunch bunch, visited with friend, errand day and then Bee. All were SO much fun!!!
Saturday we had an electrician come in and hang 2 new ceiling fans and put in a larger breaker box. And cleaned out more of MIL house... when the trash can is full we stop. Had 3 huge garbage bags and 1 box of stuff for Goodwill again. We also went to the Singing Tree concert. It was such a great way to get in the Christmas spirit!!!

Here is the tree.... the ornaments are people. They started with hand puppets then the choir and then Holly Tucker. Then the tree full of people:)

So while we had no electricity I worked on designing Project Linus tops with fabric I got at the Bee. Today I brought Judith... my featherweight in the house and sewed all 6 up:) Now they go to Pat for backs:)

The footballs were already made:) Yea!!!

Leftover fabrics that came with the footballs.

Had a bunch of train fabric so here is the first, Hate it when the fabric is not printed straight!

The blocks were already made and the rest came with  them. Once again crooked panel:(

More trains.
And the last one is just a piece of the train fabric by itself. I have enough of the tracks to bind it:)

Hope you have a great week! I am home all but one day:) YEA!!!!
Been cold at night and no we did not get any of the snow:( We did get some sleet but nothing stuck:) I was thankful for that!

Till next week!

December!

December has arrived and it's still warm... suppose to have a cold front come this week:) Sure is hard to be in the spirit when you are wearing shorts:)

Hubby and I went to HEB this morning and bought a real little Christmas tree:) We haven't had a  live tree for almost 5 years... Jax and Gemma were babies and there were concerns! Of course they may still pull it over but there are no breakable ornaments on it... they would just spill some water... we hope not though!

I started the custom quilt last week and got half way done with it... will only quilt a day or 2 this week as we have lunch bunch and Bee this week. Plus a good friend is down visiting and I want to spend sometime with her:)

Friday Pat and I headed to Sew Much More as Bianca had a fit when the power went off and on and she was asleep... I can't get her hoop calibrated to continue embroidering:( They said 2- 2 1/2 weeks:( UGH!!!! I have another angel and a new Santa to stitch out... and I need to finish my snowmen.... But we did stop a Joann's:)

So not many pictures but that is ok:)

This is a Man's Chemo quilt.

I got the kit from Guild and the backing from Pat. Just meandered all over.

Another Chemo Kit.

More meandering:)

Block #10 out of 20 for my Moda Bee quilt.

My Millie Rosette #3 is started

Row 2 is done:) Haven't sewn then together yet.

Here is our little tree:)

Have a great week and get those gifts finished!!!
