We made it to July!

Hi All,

There were no gigantic chickens roaming the earth like they were predicting on FB so I think we might be ok:) Oh and the Sahara dust is gone so we can go back to walking in the mornings. It really messed with our allergies:(

Of course we are back on mandatory face masks and they urge us to stay home... like that will happen! I bet the numbers go up because of the 4th celebrations? We pretty much stayed home and grilled for the 2 of us:) I turned off the phone and stayed off FB and Instagram all day. Was really nice! May do it more often!

I finished the special order so I got to sew for me:) YEA!!! And I got the chemo top done also... am planning the next donation project to sew in between my Glitter blocks.

Ok so I know you want to see pictures:

Here is the memory quilt for Andrea made with her favorite shirts her mother wore.

The top knitted one was cut from a stocking:) The green was a favorite scarf.

She loved high heels and the Dallas Cowboys.

I think I got it:)

Then she wanted memory pillows made for her boys.

I did all the machine embroidery with Grandma's pet names for them.
I snuck one in for Andrea... she was always called Chicken by her Dad. I did his memory quilt a few years back with all the collared shirts.

My chemo top all done:) yea!!! I already have the backing fabric so will get in line for the next computer quilting time.

What's on the frame still for next week. Pattern is Vintage Christmas by Lori Holt.

Will be staying home most of the week and quilting. The temps are rising as Summer has arrived for sure now:( Means earlier walking for us as it's almost 80 when we wake up:( and way too hot to go in the evening plus you can be hauled away by the mosquitoes.. not big enough to take over the world but still lots of them! Will be until all the standing water dries up which should happen soon!

Stay cool, stay well, and stay safe!
And wear your mask when you go out!

Loved the chemo quilt. Lots of work in it. So glad allergies are better. I am on side 4 of binding on tulip quilt. Dang kids probably will never marry. lol Just staying indoors. Saw a Bonnie Hunter patter called garlic knots. Really cute. May try it one day. If I do will be lap size. Tired of BIG quilts. Take care.
