October nearly over?

 Hi All,

Hard to believe Fall is upon us, Halloween is next week, then Thanksgiving will quickly appear, then Christmas and finally this year will be over! Time flies when you are having fun:)

So got a quilt finished with tons and tons of filler... body wasn't too happy but I pushed through. Have the quilt loaded to start tomorrow:) The list is going down:) YEA!

We also went and voted Wednesday at 2... no waiting:)

I also finished my wool nativity runner. Turned out really nice even though I used the directions as suggestions:) They wanted you to make the runner first and then applique on top... well I didn't want to so did it my way. There is no batting or binding. I stitched it and left a hole to pull it through and then stitched it all the way around. Love it!

Met with my bee and worked on it there:) Had a funeral that we decided we really didn't want to go to. I went to friends house to teach her hubby how to use the longarm software. So the week flew by:)

I have the AC guy coming tomorrow to get the heater ready which from what I have seen we will need this week. 45 is to be the high on Tuesday and the low is 44?? BRRR! The mornings have been pretty cool and the kitties have wanted to sleep in:) I am ok with that since so do we:) LOL!

Ok on with pictures:

This is Camille's sorority quilt for herself:)

There is lots and lots of freehand quilting on this one!

I used 29 bobbins of mostly white thread with a bit of green and pink for a few blocks.

Love the backing fabric!

Oh I also basted a quilt I made all by hand a few years back... not sure when? I am hand quilting it. It will keep me warm on those cold days!!

Here is the Nativity runner.

And a closeup:) Really happy with it!

Well will stay home most of the week and should get a few items done:)
Will get the computer quilting started after the next quilt.
Need to finish my Halloween costume for the party next weekend:)
Have an amazing week!

Another busy week... but aren't they all?

 Hi All,

Seems like the days are flying by and Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it!

I see all the Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff out in stores already:( UGH!!! Good thing we do small and I have almost everything:) I try to buy or make a new nativity something every year.. this year it's a wool runner with lots and lots of little pieces:) It is cut, fused and I have started stitching it:) Of course I love Sue Spargo's Squash series she has on Instagram... saving it maybe for next year? Or Kathy Schmitz Snowflakes runner? Always something to make:) LOL!

Have another funeral to go to this coming week.. the hubby of MIL BFF that passed last month. So won't be home much this week. Might be a good break? I do have 2 full days of custom quilting scheduled.

Ok on with pictures:

The last memory quilt is done:)

Got it quilted last weekend and then bound.

The whole order got dropped off to client on Tuesday.

Karen B made this quilt.

She let me custom quilt it for her so lots of feathers and ruler work.

Really turned out great!

Here is the back ... was shipped to Maine on Thursday:)

Pumpkin runner all quilted and bound and ready to give away:)

I still have almost enough of this cat fabric from years ago to use as the backing.

I made these 2 Calico Corns from wool. Pattern from Rebekah Smith.

So the list is gradually getting smaller and I am getting less stressed:)
I think I am gonna like retired life next year:)
Have an awesome week!

A few Summer days:(

 Hi All,

Well Summer has reappeared for a few days:( Suppose to get to 96 or more today. Glad we have AC!!!

Was a busy quilting week  and a busy sewing weekend:) Hubby was gone most of Sat at The Vintage Car Drag Races at Little River so I got to sew and sew!!! I finished the pumpkin runner and the memory quilt. Today both got quilted and the binding is made and will be sewn on next:) Nice to get 2 projects out of the way:) Still need to figure out how to quilt next quilt and get it loaded to start tomorrow.

Otherwise it was a quiet week except for Dazi working:) Here is what she worked on:

First up is Janice's stunning hexie quilt!!

She worked on it at several Bee's:)

Tons of ruler work and a little free hand feathers in the blooms.

There were 20 different thread colors and 16 bobbins of thread used.

Looks amazing!!!

My Spring wool project is all done:)

I worked on it real hard and then took a few months off and finally finished it... couldn't start a new project till it was done. I do that so I don't have too many UFO's:)

Pumpkin topper ready to be quilted.

Memory quilt also ready to be quilted.

Nice to clear a few plates:) Somedays I feel like I am twirling quite a few of them:(
Have an awesome week and stay cool or dry wherever you live!

Happy October!

 Hi All,

Hope you had a great week! Mine was full of quilting and friends:) YEA!

We had our little quilting group get together this week. Sure was nice to visit with all of them!

The weather has been wonderful! No AC most days:) Of course it is on at night... surprising how many cars drive by and how loud the dogs are at nite!

On with a few pictures:

This is Janice's Guild BOM.

Love the color choice!

Lots of freehand and ruler work:)

Another of Janice's quilts. I have one more that will be loaded today:)

A Stack and Whack from the outer border fabric. LOVE that fabric!

More ruler and freehand quilting.

My Bonnie Hunter pumpkin table runner. Imagine my surprise when I put the checkerboard center on wall and it was too short:) LOL!!! I didn't read the directions correctly and only made 21 units instead of 42. Oh well...  I placed the other fabrics on the wall just to get a perspective:) She will love it!

I finally got the Cowboys fabric in and found sashing fabrics so am hoping to get the last memory quilt done soon!

Quiet week here this coming week so more quilting!!!

I got a massage on Thursday and today I am finally feeling the relief I needed! Will be back in 3 weeks.
She is taking a class to walk on your back... can't wait for that massage! Think it may be my Christmas gift to myself:)

Have an awesome week!!!

September finally almost over:) YEA!

 Hi All,

Hope you had an awesome week!

We quilted quite a bit and got a few other things done also. The weather has been cool and now it is warm and humid again:( Suppose to cool off again tomorrow? Allergies are hitting us both but esp Hubby:(

My garden is still pretty wet and I even drained more water out of both containers. I had 1 squash, then 2, then 1 rotted, and then there was the one, now 2 and 3 but wait lost another one:( Hopefully get to pick a few before it freezes.

On with the pictures:

Our practice PL.

Neat E2E squares.

Now onto client quilt. This is Cheryl's. Had been in the closet for close to 20 years:)

She wanted squares E2E.

Flannel backing shows the quilting off!

Another practice PL.

Swirls

Elaine's BOM from Salado store I think.

The pink quilting really set off the different blocks.

And look it's reversible:)

Future baby boy quilt all done.

Use Dot to Dot E2E in a gray thread.

What's on my design wall now.... Bonnie Hunter Pumpkin Table runner.
Cousin is having her annual Halloween party next month so wanted to make this as a gift for her:)

The first of 2 memory quilts is finished.

Left the pockets open:)

A longhorn fan ... see the night gown snaps? I do like to include all parts of the clothing:)
I finally found some Dallas Cowboys fabric at a decent price so am waiting on that to finish up teh second quilt. All the clothing is ready... just need to sash, border, and quilt, trim, and bind. Guess there is still lots to do:)

Busy week and will be back to custom quilting starting tomorrow:)
Hope my back holds out until Thursday when I see my massage therapist! Plan to start scheduling her every 3 weeks instead of 4. I have lots to get finished!

Have an awesome week and enjoy this fall weather!

Fall has arrived:)

 Hi All,

The weather the past few days has been SO nice! No AC and the windows open for the kitties:) They do enjoy the live tv:)

Busy week with just one visitation:) Hopefully none this week. Had a few friends over on Friday and we went shopping and out to lunch:) Always fun!

We did computer quilting and will do more next week and then back to custom quilting. It sure clears out the line when we so many a week.

Ok on with pictures... I have more then I thought!

We warmed up with a PL.

Then onto Peggy's Frolic.

This was the Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt last year.

Love the cinnamon grunge fabric on the back!

Another practice PL.

And another... with the great inspector Bob at the helm:)

This is Linda's I call carnival quilt.

Used Mod Dot's in pink as the E2E pattern.

Turned out really nice!

This is also Linda's.

It's the Carpenters Star.

We used Fast Feathers design E2E with gray thread. LOVE this one!!!

Got my grandson's quilt top ready to get in line to be quilted.

These are what I bought at QIY... glittered grunge...wow!!! I got a yard of every color except the white I bought 2 yds:)

The 2 memory pillow tops are all done and the inserts are ordered then I will sew the backing on them... may need to cut them down some.

We got the stray cat habitats all refreshed and ready for winter:) I have 2 yellow squash:) Am surprised!
Hope the rain we are to get will not kill/drown/knock them off this week. But we do need some more rain... just not 8 inches this time!!!

Hope you have an awesome week!!!
